"Mother, I think I know what my decision is." Elyse said as she walked downstairs and went to her Mother.

"Yes, what is it?" Her mother asked, looking up from editing the newspaper.

"I'll go. You and Father were right. Going to Hogwarts sounds like an opportunity that I can't give up."

"That's wonderful honey. I would suggest you write a letter back to the person who wrote you that letter letting them know your answer." Said her mother.

"Okay. Thank you Mother." Elyse said as she hugged her mother.

Elyse went upstairs to write a response but instead she saw that she had a letter back from Tom so she decided to read that first. And once she finished she was shocked.

Dear Elyse,

Hogwarts! Really? My uncle who lives by there said that strange things are happening around there. It's not safe. You better not go. Of course this would ruin our relationship! How could it not? That's very dangerous. You could get killed. Tell me your not going. Please don't. It would be awful.

Still yours,

Tom S. Harry

Elyse sat at her desk for a while processing what her boyfriend had said. Things are going on there, it's not safe, better not go... All those words he said made Elyse second guess herself.

After arguing with her brain and her heart, she decided that she still wanted to go. Learning secrets about her? Maybe about her parents? Questions she has had for a long while could finally be answered. Elyse pulled out a piece of parchment paper and pushing the letter out of her sight,  she started to write a response letter to the Headmaster of Hogwarts. At first Elyse had no idea what to say, so she just started to write as if she was writing to a friend.

Dear  Mr. Dumbledore,

My name is Elyse Jane Elizabeth Colston and I live in a small town in Kentucky. I was adopted when I was a baby and as you say, from London. London's.... quite.... big.... right? I guess that's where I got my accent from.

Anyways, I received your letter asking if I would like to stay at Hogwarts for my 5th year, and after thinking, I decided that I would really enjoy it.

Elyse stopped writing mid-way. Was the letter too formal? She brushed it off and continued writing.

I do have some questions though. Where will I be staying before term starts?  What is the school year like? Where will I get all of my supplies?

Thank you,

Elyse Jane Elizabeth Colston

She read over her letter a few times and did decide that is was to formal, but she put it in an envelope and handed it to Willa, who was in the middle of eating. Once Willa few out the window, Elyse grabbed one of her new books, sat on her bed and started reading.

Your boyfriend is scared for you. He does not want to loose you to some English guy. What if he does? What if he wants you to go so he never has to see you again? He is not "yours" he is someone else's. Go. Go to London. Leave. Don't come back. He wants you to leave but doesn't have the guts to tell you. Go. It's what he wants.

June 24th 1995.

Elyse had gotten a letter back from Mr. Dumbledore explaining that she would come a week before the term starts to get all of her items and meet the family she would be staying with before the year starts.

Elyse was helping her mother make lunch when she had to go upstairs to feed Willa. When she was in her room she walked right past Willa and sat on her bed.

"Get back to the cup!" Elyse heard a boy say as if he were in pain.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Elyse heard a different boy say. It seamed as though he was scared, but also trying to sound brave.

"Kill the spare!" Elyse heard. It sounded like a shriveled man.

"Avada Kedavra!" Elyse heard someone yell.

"No!"  Elyse heard the first voice yell, then she saw a bright green light. "Cedric!"  That same voice yelled.

After those voices where gone, Elyse sat on her bed just looking at the wall. Those voices she heard sounded like they were English and that something bad had just happened. She knew that one thing she heard was one on the Unforgivable Curses. She just couldn't remember what that spell did. Also, Cedric. That name sounded familiar. She realized that his name is Cedric Diggory. He is the son of the family that she would be staying with when she went to London. She quickly searched her desk for that letter. She found it and quickly re-read the letter.

Dear Ms. Colston,

Thank you for your questions. I will answer one of them here, and the others will be answered when you arrive. The family you will be staying at is the Diggory's. Mr. and Mrs. Diggory were the first family I thought of for you to stay at. They have a son who's name is Cedric. He is about to finish his 6th year here at Hogwarts, and has one year left. Mr. Cedric is a Hufflepuff, the house of Loyalty, Honesty, and Kindness. I believe that you will get along quite well with him when you join us at Hogwarts.

As you called me,

"Mr. Dumbledore"

Elyse wondered why she had heard someone else's voice. Why had she seen a bright green light? She tried to decipher what those voices had meant. Who said an Unforgivable Curse? Why? Why was Cedric involved? What had happened?

Elyse quickly fed Willa, remembering why she came to her room in the first place, then left to finish helping her mother make lunch.

Through out the rest of the day she kept thinking about what that could have possibly meant. She decided to look through her school trunk and look for her school book that would tell her. After a while of searching through her trunk she found a textbook that she thought would help, so she opened it to the table of contents and looked to see if there was anything.

"There. Chapter 21. The Three Unforgivable Curses. Page 394." Elyse said to herself. She flipped through the pages of the chapter until she found one that mentioned the spell she heard.

"This is the worst spell... duh duh duhh. This spell is the worst of all of the Unforgivable Curses. Avada Kedavra is the killing spell. Nothing can bring back someone from the dead unless the person is holding the Resurrection Stone. Resurrection Stone, what's that?" Elyse said to herself.
