Chapter 13

Authors Note:

Sorry for the long wait for a new chapter. Stuff has kept me really busy. I'm sorry. 'Cause it's been a while, I'll tell you something. This book is going to have 25 chapters plus an Epilogue. Again, I'm sorry for the long wait.

Once Elyse saw Hogwarts from around the corner she packed up her things and sat with Draco on the train in silence. She saw Draco looking more and more nervous the closer they got to the train station.

Draco was looking at the wall ahead of him until the train stopped. He didn't move until Elyse nudged him.

"Hey, we're here." Elyse said and Draco stood up.

Elyse stood up and fell back down and put her hands on her head.

"Are you Okay?" Draco asked when he saw Elyse with her hands on her head.

"Yeah, yeah, just a bit of head rush. That's all." Elyse said as she stood up carefully. She reached for her bags but Draco stopped her.

"Don't. I'll get it." Draco muttered under his breath. He picked up Elyse's bags and walked out. Elyse stood awkwardly and when she saw a few other students walk out, she followed them.

When Elyse got to the carriages she saw Draco standing next to one, with his arms crossed.

"Get in." He said.

"I'm sorry?" Elyse asked.

"You heard me. Get. In." Draco said a bit louder.

Elyse was confused so she climbed in the carriage. Draco followed behind her and they started moving.

"Shouldn't we wait for others to get in?" Elyse asked.

Draco didn't answer.

Elyse dropped it. She sat there in quiet. All she could hear were her own thoughts and the wheels rolling over the rocks.

When they got to the doors of Hogwarts and the carriage was stopped, Elyse climbed out, but when she did, her foot slipped and she stumbled a bit, but she caught herself and continued but before she did, she felt a hand being rested on top of hers. Elyse looked up and saw Draco's hand on hers. The two locked eyes and Draco quickly took his hand off Elyse's and Elyse continued to climb down.

After Draco got out of the carriage they walked up the castle stairs. Elyse was walking towards the Hufflepuff table when she felt eyes looking at her. Elyse turned around and saw Draco walking with her. Luckily no one was around, so Elyse stopped.

"What? We aren't even in the Great Hall! Why are you following me?" Elyse asked.

Draco looked Elyse in the eyes and bit his lip a little bit. "I'm going to walk you to your seat to make sure you are Okay."

"I'm fine. I don't need you to walk me to my seat." Elyse answered.

"Let me do this." Draco said.

"Why?"

"Just let. Me. Do. This." Draco said coldly.

"Fine, whatever." Elyse said and walked down the corridor. Elyse walked into the Great Hall and she heard lots of voices talking around her. She assumed everyone was talking about their Christmas holiday.

Elyse was walking over to the Hufflepuff table when she heard voices slowly getting less and less until she could see Katie and Rosalie's faces. Their faces looked as if someone had dropped a brick in their mouths and they were stuck open.

Elyse ignored it and sat down in between Rosalie and Katie. Then she turned around and saw Draco walking to his table.

"Okay. Spill." Rosalie said after everyone had resumed their conversations.

"What?" Elyse asked confused.

"Don't act like you don't know." Katie said.

"What don't I know?" Elyse asked.

"You and Malfoy! Obviously." Rosalie answered back.

"Me and Malfoy? What do you-? Wait. You don't think- do you? No, no, no, no, no and no, did I mention no? That's not what you think." Elyse said defensively.

"What I think is that you and Malfoy cozied up over holiday." Katie whispered sense Dumbledore had walked up to his podium.

 "No it's-" Elyse whispered back.

"We'll talk later." Rosalie cut her off.

During dinner after Dumbledore had finished giving his speech, Elyse was quiet and not listening to Katie or Rosalie who were talking her ear off. The girls wanted to know everything about her and Draco. Elyse was spacing a few times and every once in a while she would snap back and realize that she had dropped her fork.

Two days before Valentines Day

Elyse was sitting in the Great Hall eating her breakfast, toast with orange juice when the post started to arrive. Elyse looked up and saw a black owl fly towards her and drop two envelopes in front of her and left.

Elyse put her toast down and reached for the envelope on top. The envelope had her name written on top in familiar handwriting. It was from Lili-Anna. Elyse opened the envelope and read the letter quickly.

Elyse,

How have you been? I hope everything is going well for you. Oh my gosh I miss you so much. Ilvermorny has been so boring with out you. Anyways, that's not what I wanted to tell you. What I wanted to tell you is that my parents said that as soon as you get back to the states we can go to Styles' Styles and get some new clothing. Awesome right?? The reason why is because our Sweet Sixteens are coming up, and I know that you won't get back until after your birthday, but we can still celebrate it when you get back. Oh. Also your ex-boyfriend Tom has broken up with his other girlfriend and he asked me if I could ask you if you wanted to get back together. He claims he was put under a "love potion" but I don't believe that. I know you'll say no, but I still thought it was funny. Why would he think you guys would want to get back together. That's ridiculous. Sorry for my ranting by the way. Happy Valentines Day!

P.S. Just reread my letter and I now realize how bad it is written, sorry about that, you know how bad I am at writing. Ugg I'm doing it again. I'll stop. Sorry. :)

Elyse chuckled to herself and shook her head. It was like L.A. to go on and on without stopping to make sure it is written well. Hearing Tom wanted to get back together was shocking for Elyse but she new she couldn't.

Elyse put L.A's letter back in the envelope and put it in her robe pocket. She reached for the second envelope when she saw that handwriting again.

"Ugg." Elyse said to herself as she opened the letter.

Soon you will know all. You will learn the truth and the truth will find you. Let it find you. Open your eyes and look closer.

That was all the letter, well more like a note said. Elyse was folding up the letter when she saw something taped on the back. It was an article and it was circled. Elyse took a closer look and it was only _ sentences long. Some words were crossed out and Elyse could not read them.

It looks as though ... was sending ... we can only see ... and nothing else. What could ... possibly be doing? All we know is that ... was supposed to be in ... but is clearly not. We will keep tabs on ... and see if we can figure what is going on. Is ... sending ... to a secret ... ? We asked ... and .. for commentary but ... would not. Check back next week for an update to see if ... has sent any more ... to whoever ... is sending them to.

"Why would I want this?" Elyse muttered to herself as she put the paper in her robe pocket.

Elyse continued and finished her breakfast when everything goes black.
