Over the next few days, the rumors continued to spread. Each time making it sound way worse then it was. Right now Elyse is on her way to breakfast walking with Rosalie and Katie. Rosalie and Katie we jabbing on about their potions homework and how it was so hard. Elyse was just there. She didn't join in the conversation.
Elyse sat down and made a bowl of cereal to eat when the post came. A black owl flew down and dropped of The Daily Prophet in front of her and left. Elyse stopped eating and opened the paper. When she did she saw a piece of paper taped on the side. It said:
Read what is circled on page 4.
No name or anything. Elyse looked at the front of the paper to see what date this was published and she saw that it was June 7th, 1990. She opened the paper to page four and saw that at the bottom of the page there was a small article circled in ink. It was short and confusing.
Today marks the 10th year that the princess had been missing to the Magical Royal family. No one knows what she looks like or where she is now. Queen Jennifer and King Marcus wish to know anything you know about the missing princess. Their 10 year old son has just started at Durmstrang. If you know anything about the missing princess please send an owl to The Daily Prophet.
Elyse was so confused and it didn't make sense to her, so she ignored it and went back to eating.
Halloween
"That wasn't scary Rosalie!" Said Katie laughing at Rosalie's attempt at a scary story. Rosalie, Kate and Elyse were in their dorm room sitting on the floor telling ghost stories.
"Fine. You try then." Rosalie said laughing.
"I will." Responded Katie. She turned to Elyse. "Have you ever heard the story about the dead princess that haunts Hogwarts?"
"No. I don't think I have." Elyse answered unsurely.
"Well you're in for a treat then." Katie said.
"I was told this story from my older sister Bridget when she came home for Christmas." Rosalie said.
"Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess who one day got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. She made it through her first year fine, but then on Halloween night the princess was walking down the hallway late at night when something or someone came up from behind her and she screamed. She woke up staff and students and when students found her, she was found dead on the floor, blood dripping out of her head. Then the students heard a scream and they all cowered in fear just to see the ghost of the princess come out of her body and go inside the walls. Weeks later when classes were going on, students heard another scream from right outside the old charms classroom where she was found dead. The students rushed out of the charms room to see a young boy knocked out on the floor and written next to him were the words "I will get my revenge on this boy and anyone who knows him." The thing is, those words were written in BLOOD. Now to this day everyone says that she still haunts the walls and will take another victims who are somehow related to the boy who killed her. The thing is, they never found out why he killed her. The boy died a few weeks after he was found knocked out. The end." Katie said
"BOO!" Yelled Rosalie from behind Elyse.
"AHH!" Screamed Elyse, never noticed that Rosalie moved behind her.
Then the girls broke out in a fit of giggles.
A few days later Hermione asked if Elyse would like to join her in a study session to do the History of Magic homework. Elyse took up on the offer.
"Grab that other book off the shelf." Hermione said. Their homework topic was to research someone who had a big impact on history and Hermione suggested the Royal Family War.
"Here you go Hermione." Elyse said as she handed Hermione a big book.
"Thanks. How about you get started on the Family Tree? Make sure to add up to the most recent Royal. We need this to be perfect." Said Hermione as she flipped though a book.
Elyse sat down and opened up the big fat book in front of her. She started coping the Royal families who were involved in the war.
After about 20 minutes Elyse got to the most recent Royal Family members. She was reading the names when she stopped. The names seemed oddly familiar. King Marcus, Queen Jennifer, and Prince Louis. She also saw that there was an empty spot with no name.
"Hermione?" Elyse asked.
"Yes?" Hermione said not looking up from the four paragraph essay she was writing.
"Take a look at this, I think there's a mistake. There's an empty spot in the family tree. Also, the names seem really really familiar to me."
Hermione stopped what she was writing and looked in the book.
"Ohh, that empty space is for the missing princess." Hermione said.
"Missing Princess?" Elyse asked.
"Yeah, when the princess was born she mysteriously disappeared right after she was born. She never had a birth certificate so her name is not aloud on the Family Tree but they keep an empty space there to represent that there is another Royal Family member but they don't know where she is."
"Hermione, take a look at this though. It says she and Prince Louis were born in 1980."
"And?"
"Well, that means that the princess is I believe 15 right now. That means that she has been missing for 15 years."
"So?"
Elyse was confused. "How do they know if they will ever meet her, and how will the princess know that she is who she is without being told?"
Just then an owl flew in from the library window. It dropped a letter in front of Elyse and flew away. Hermione had gone back to writing so Elyse opened the letter. It was super short.
Elyse
No one knows that I'm writing to you. Don't tell anyone. I just have one thing to tell you. Try to befriend the hard to befriend. You're befriending the wrong people.
L
Few days after Thanksgiving.
Elyse had not gotten another letter from "L" since she got that letter in the library. It said to try to befriend the hard to befriend. That was stuck on her mind. What did that mean? You're befriending the wrong people. What?
Elyse had noticed that Hermione, Ron, and Harry had stopped coming to eat meals with her. She noticed that they were always talking to the same group of people almost everyday. Just the other day in Transfiguration class, Ginny Weasley, Elyse learned that Ginny was Ron's younger sister, and she saw that Ginny fell asleep in class. Transfiguration is her best class and she NEVER fell asleep. Why had she fallen asleep? Elyse was going to figure it out.
