I remember my father when he didn't talk a lot

His voice was the first thing I almost forgot

He'd hold on to us

Till all his sadness came flooding in and then he quit

My mother didn't cry a lot

She had seen it coming before he even fought

But we were so young we were just kids

Maybe the sadness was what she hid

I always blamed them for living in this lie

But I'll always be grateful for their part in my life

Walking along the last safe lines

Scattered across a world gone blind

They tell me I have my Nonna's eyes

Dad liked them best after we had cried

Fuck the love and fuck our life

You're the one holding my lifeline

It's early and I'm watching the birds

And deep down I know why it hurts

Cause they have something I can't get back again

what did I do to deserve this?

You uncousiously hurt your own two kids

Cause I won't forget

Should I forgive you this?

It's your fault that I know how everyone eventually will leave me

Walking on my last lines

Shattered across a world gone blind

I still have my brother's eyes

I will scream and I will cry

For the love and for our life

Hold ontu the last lifeline

I know you couldn't get through this

We were both kids but we were not stupid

You caused me pain and you caused me sorrow

At least for you there wasn't a tomorrow

Pick up my past and pick up my paces

Why would I even try to change it

I'll always share your face and I can't erase that fact

Walking in the air to my surprise

Maybe the world isn't so blind

I wish I had my mother's eyes

I have screamed and I have cried

For my love and for my life

He let go of my lifeline
