On some level I might've understood
That these hand of mine have become claws
Not made for others
And even though I have tried my best I knew couldn't hold on to the memories of you
You've gone and you forged these claws
You've left me
And perhaps I am selfish I am reckless that is true
But those are all the things they would have said about you
And I ask myself do think of me the same way I do?
I have no tears
Not anymore
So it's scratch open the last reminder of you
And yes my eyes have already changed
But my heart still feel the same
It feels the same
This pain is still trapped and I can't lose it
And perhaps I am depressed, delusional and dumb
But those are the thing they would have said about you
Do you think of me the same way I do?
I have your voice
I have your hair
I have your eyes
I have your stare
I own your soul
I own your heart
But I would much rather tear it apart
I own your books
I own your clothes
I have you chin, cheekbones and nose
I have your guitar
I have your photos
The only thing I lack is you
perhaps I am dramatic, cowardly and cruel
But those are the things I would have said about you
Do you think of me the same way I do?
I own your love
I own your might
You were my sun and my daylight
You were the stars
You were the dark
But you are gone
You promised it was only for one night
You have always taught me humans are cruel and selfish
You were right
YOU ARE READING
I shattered my own soul
