. . .

It's been almost more than three months of school and I'm already failing. I have an F in every class including Spanish as if I'm supposed to know how to say anything other than "hola" and "si." The only thing I've done that's been productive was playing D&D with my hellfire club. I hate walking the halls with the basketball team continuously passing the ball in the hall as if it were their whole court, Steve Harrington of course always getting in the way.

"Watch it freak!" A voice across from Steve Harrington called out to me.

I heard Steve tell him to be nice. Yeah, he definitely didn't fill the jock profile, but maybe that's for the best. I watched Hailey walk by me in the hallway as if I was completely invisible. Yep, exactly as I thought, the swarm of prissy cheerleaders has gotten to her head.

I sighed and shook my head and saw that she had parted from her little group of ponytail monsters to stand at Peter's side, he was the leader of the basketball team whatever it's called, and the one who called me a freak about two minutes ago. I can't believe someone as genuine as her could be sucked into that life. Maybe it all was supposed to happen like this. Maybe her and I were just never supposed to have met.

She was friends with Nancy Wheeler, they were in the same grade and they were both equally as dorky, to be honest, Hailey's probably the reason why Nancy and Steve got together. I had high hopes for Hailey, but then again she did say she was a cheerleader at her old school, so she's probably used to being a bitch like the jocks.

. . .

It was English, and I sucked at English. Everything the teacher would say would go in through one ear and out the other. I was always sitting in the back doodling on my notebook because I never cared to pay any attention to the creative literature that Shakespeare transpired. I also hated that class because Hailey sat right next to me.

Hailey was in accelerated classes or at least two that I was aware of; because they were regular classes for me. She basically skipped a grade but she wouldn't graduate for two more years, because she decided that leaving Hawkins was going to be a lot for her mom to handle. I don't know why she would want to stay for any other reason, but she's the one who made that decision. Which I think is absolutely stupid because she would just be taking the same classes for two years until her whole high school career was over.

I only knew she was in two accelerated classes, accelerated meaning she was in senior classes instead of her sophomore ones because she was in both my English and History classes. She also happened to be in my Math class which is sophomore level math, but that's because I'm too dumb to be placed in a math class with people in my grade. At this point, I can just wave class of 84' goodbye, since there's no point in trying to get my grades up if I already started this school year failing.

. . .

"Mr. Munson!" The English teacher called out to me snapping me out of spacing out, "Are you even listening?"

I looked up at him, "Yes, Mr. Langston, I was listening and your lesson was very intriguing to say the least." I responded quickly so he would know that he didn't catch me off guard

Mr. Langston looked at the textbook right in front of him, "Alrighty then, could you please read the passage from the textbook we were currently on?" He asked looking up at me

Of course, he made me read the one thing I hated about this class. I was flipped to the wrong page and I could feel everyone's eyes pressured onto me.

Hailey looked over at me and whispered in her quietest voice, "Page 82, third paragraph down"

I nodded and didn't make eye contact because then that would make it even more obvious that I wasn't paying attention, "Ok, I found it." I said then placing my finger on the third paragraph and read from the book, "'Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, eight years his senior, on November 28, 1582, at Temple Grafton, ne-" I read, but then got interrupted by Mr. Langston

"Thank you, Mr. Munson." He started, "I'm glad you were paying attention and I will continue on" He began to read the rest taking all of the other eyes off of me.

I turned to look at Hailey and she flashed me a smile, "Thank you" I whispered to her hoping that she would hear which she did by her other much longer smile.

Class was over and I was done, I knew I was going to skip my last class because it was Spanish. Before, the bell rang everyone swarmed out of the classroom and I was about to follow them when I hear,

"Mr. Munson, do you mind if I have a word with you?" Mr. Langston asked as he let two more people out of the room and closed the door and sat on a desk

"I mean, you're the teacher," I responded with a shrug

He sighed and looked at me, "I personally think that you won't graduate this year," He said blatantly

Wow, what reassurance.

"I believe that in order for you to pass my class with at least a 62, you're going to need a tutor. I have some people who have volunteered their own hours into tutoring their fellow peers, and personally, I think you'd benefit from it." He explained

I stared at him for a minute, "You really think a tutor is going to help me pass your class?" I asked, "I'm not good at school in general, and doing some studying with one of my classmates definitely isn't going to change that"

"I believe otherwise," He looked at the time then went over to his desk and pulled out a notepad and ripped out a sheet of paper, "Here, I asked some people and only one of them accepted the offer. If you could maybe meet with her, or ask if she could explain what you're not understanding. I think you'll improve in the slightest."

"Thanks," I said taking the paper and walking out without looking at it.

I went to my van and sat in there for a while stalling,

"Personally, I think you should rot in hell," I mocked Mr. Langston, because that man always got on my nerves

I looked out the window and saw Hailey pulling out of the parking lot in her mom's car. It was their only car and she had to pick up her mom and drive her to work, or sometimes she would go home and her mom would just take the car for herself. I sighed and looked at the crumpled piece of paper on the passenger seat that Mr. Langston handed me. I uncrumpled it to check who the one person who so willingly offered to help me was, I know half of the people in that class wouldn't because I'm the so called 'freak'.

As soon as I read the name I put the piece of paper down and squeezed my eyes shut hoping that it would maybe take me away from reality or maybe off the face of the earth. I don't understand why she out of all people would want to help me. She's probably doing it for some extra credit points on her resume because I knew that her boyfriend would never let her go near the 'freak' let alone tutor him.

I sighed again taking a look at the name one last time, "Oh, Hailey Miller."

. . .

OMG, I literally can't function with Stranger Things Vol.2. That was devastating and I don't know how I was able to finish writing this chapter today, but anyway I hope you enjoy it and much love you all <3

If you have any questions or maybe suggestions on how I could better my writing, I would also appreciate it.
