. . .

"I'll wait in the van." Hailey whispered and we all watched her walk away.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Phil." I glared, I was so furious, "Why'd you treat her like shit, huh?"

"Like I said before, our club isn't for girls." He said blatantly.

"She wasn't playing the fucking game! She was watching us and I don't like the fact that you're the only one who had a problem with Hailey being here!" I yelled at him.

He shook his head, "My problem with Hailey is that she's a cheerleader... She's one of the many popular kids who picks on us and calls us freaks."

"You've got it all wrong. Hailey isn't like them. Sh-"

"Oh, so she's different?!" Phil didn't let me speak, "They're all the same. Just because she shows you a side of her that doesn't seem like the rest doesn't mean she's a good person! Deep down you know she's going to leave you for some new hot basketball player because you're a freak! Just like the rest of us!"

My jaw was clenched tightly. I took a deep breath to keep my calm, "Phil... She isn't fucking like that and if you talk shit about her again then I'm cutting you out of the club."

"Eddie, I'm telling you now that she's going to ruin our club, and tear us all apart. All you did was pay attention to her, you were basically just a bystander, you asked Gareth to replay his play because you weren't paying attention!"

"Well it's not like she's going to be at every fucking meeting and probably after the stunt you pulled she won't want to come around anymore!" I looked at him, "What'd you think; that a girl wasn't ever gonna come along to one of our meetings? That none of us were going to get girlfriends? Gareth's in the talking stage with Monica Keller. Jeff's working up the confidence to talk to Gina Nickleson." I looked at both of them pointing them out, "I'm sorry that I found the one girl I love with my entire being and that I invited her to come see something that I'm passionate about and that she couldn't even enjoy it because of you! It could've been Jeff or Gareth in this situation... If they were in relationships, I wouldn't be the one to stop them from bringing whoever they wanted. I'm sooo sorry that you're jealous of me, but did you really think we were always gonna be playing D&D for the rest of our lives? You're the only one who's alone, Phil, and if you this keep it up; you won't have any of us."

"Fuck you, Eddie." Phil's fisted balled up in anger.

Gareth interjected, "I think that we've all had a rough day. I think we should all go home with our heads held high as Jeff did help us win against the Stone Giant. I think that Phil should be openminded about having Hailey back, because in my opinion I think things went a lot more smoothly when she was here, and I think Eddie didn't mean any of that because you both are talking out of your asses." Gareth raised his eyebrows looking between me and Phil.

"Gareth has a point," Jeff added, "Hailey's a lovely person and she didn't even interrupt our game once. Just think if it would've been anyone else?"

"Yep. She doesn't judge us like everyone else does. She doesn't look at us like we're outcasts, and it's nice having someone like that around." Gareth smiled.

"You guys just favor her because she's with Eddie, but when she comes and stabs all of you guys in the back don't come crawling back to me." Phil rolled his eyes, "Are we done here?"

He didn't wait for an answer before he left. I groaned, rubbing my face annoyed.

"Don't sweat it man. For what it's worth Gareth and I enjoyed her presence." Jeff patted my shoulder.
