. . .

The week passed by so quickly. It felt like it was only a few days, but during the week we did so much. He was very sweet, by running us a bath and attempting to make breakfast even though he's not a morning person, and since he isn't a morning person he would make the smoke detectors go off constantly.

Which eventually forced us out of the house to go to the diner and get ourselves breakfast and then we would drive downtown to see the construction of the mall. They were practically almost done. All they had to do was paint it. Eddie looked sad because he knew that meant summer was approaching and he knew that he wasn't spending it with me. I bet that if we were to spend the whole summer together most of our days would consist of the same three things: breakfasts, music and sex. And I was not one to complain about any of those things.

. . .

"What are you thinking about?" He asked me as he intertwined his hand with mine.

I shrugged, "We have three days left of school. I guess I'm just thinking of what I'm going to do to keep myself busy this whole summer after you go."

He frowned and looked at me, "Hails?"

"Yes, Eds?"

"Promise me you won't do anything stupid? Promise you'll wait for me?" He asked more as a request, but his voice sounded sad, as if he wasn't coming back.

"Eddie, you're making me nervous." I sat up from the picnic blanket and looked at him, "You told me you'll be back by the end of summer."

"I know, but I think we might stay a bit longer, cause of how bad Gramps is. Wayne said that when we get there he's gonna be in a bed with monitors by his side and that he's technically in a coma."

"Oh my gosh, Eddie, that awful," I frowned and hugged him taking a deep breath in

"I know we were planning to go to the fai-"

"Edward Munson, I understand." I kissed his cheek, "We have plenty of time in our lifetime together to go to some stupid fair"

He smiled and kissed my lips, "I adore you, Hailey Miller. You know that?"

"You make it very clear, Munson." I twirled a piece of his hair around my finger and thought again, "Nothings gonna change us."

. . .

Sunday.

We were back at my trailer, our week to ourselves officially over and now we were getting ready for prom. My mom was in the kitchen and Steve was around the house somewhere, now that he lived here. Which I kinda forgot had happened and when I came back on Saturday, I walked out of the bathroom to grab my towel that I had forgotten in my room and thought I'd get it after my shower and instead ended up running into Steve. Forever an awkward moment that we agreed not to speak about.

"Hailey, I don't think I was meant to ever go to prom." He yelled from across the hall as he struggled to get his tie as he barged in.

I was fixing up my makeup and then as he barged in I was trying to zip my dress up but I couldn't for the life of me, "I told you not to come in yet." I pouted.

He looked stunned, "Violet, you look stunning." He walked over slowly putting his hands around my hips and kissing my neck.

I blushed, "No hickeys before prom." I whispered.

"You know me too well," He sighed softly against my neck, giving it one last peck before zipping up my dress for me.
