. . .

Yep. I'm stuck in the closet with Eddie Munson. Why? Well, Steve and Nancy are fighting and I wanted to stay in there but he wanted to speak to her alone. I haven't seen Peter at all yet, but I'm kinda glad because if I had, I would've probably been so miserable. I hate the way he talks and the way he thinks he's the best person out there, but I hate that such a bad person can genuinely love. He told me that yesterday on our date, he loved me and gave me a bunch of reasons why; saying he loves the way I show up to all his practices and the way I twirl a strand of his hair around my finger when we lay in bed. All good reasons, but it's not what I was hoping he would say. I guess, I just expected more than just things I do, but it's whatever.

"Really?" Eddie asked surprised

"Of course, I'm glad you're here. I invited you after all." I smiled and looked at him, "It's nice to know someone other than Nancy."

"Hailey, you're popular. Shouldn't you know half of the people here?"

"I do know half of the people here, but they're not my friends, they're only nice to me because I'm dating Peter."

Eddie looked at me, it looked like he felt sorry for me when it should be the other way around, "You and Peter still a thing? Though he would've gotten tired of you by now."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I retorted

"You can't be serious, right? He's a jock, Hailey. All he wants is to have possession of you, to call you his and use you just to get into your pants." He shook his head, "He's a player, he jumps around from girl to girl and when you catch him doing it; it's gonna hurt." He spoke blatantly

I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "You know, I thought we were friends Munson. I thought that maybe we were best friends actually, but you just don't care about people... You're a cold hearted person." I frowned and my chest felt heavy saying all of those things

"Hailey, I'm just looking out for you. I'm warning you that you can't trust Peter."

I got up and opened the closet door, "You're just jealous, I don't know why maybe it's cause you're... "

"I'm what? Huh? Say it, Hailey, I'm a freak!" He looked at me, the word freak made me wince a bit, "I don't need you, or your friendship, I was doing fine without you."

"Fine, don't come looking for me then. I'm done with you, Eddie Munson."

. . .

I walked away from him and went to pick the lock to the bathroom Steve and Nancy were in. "C'mon Nance, we're leaving."

"Oh, I'll take her home," Steve spoke when I didn't get an answer from her.

"I wasn't talking to you, jerkface." I rolled my eyes and held out my hand for Nancy to take.

Nancy shook her head, "I'll be alright, Hailey, just go home alright." She smiled softly, she was still drunk but sober enough to understand the conversation.

"I drove you here, and your mom will kill me."

"Hailey, I said I'm fine."

I looked at Steve who was smirking and I rolled my eyes, "Fuck you." I spat at him and threw my drink at him.

. . .

I went downstairs and looked around when I saw Peter grinding up against Cassidy Petersen. Cassidy turned to face him and they started making out right then and there. This night couldn't get any worse. Eddie was right. He was a player, and I thought that there was the slightest chance that him saying he was in love with me was a change. I thought he was changing. Now, I ruined both of my friendships with the only two friends I actually have. Fuck. I need to get drunk, I need to forget about everything, about everyone.
