chapter 006

〚♜〛

October 2nd, 1985,

Life has been the same since the last entry, I go to school, come home, do homework, blah blah blah. Nothing really interesting has gone on other than the fact that I lost you yesterday (am I really speaking to my journal right now?) But you'll never guessed who picked you up. Eddie Munson. Yeah I know right, the super hot guy I stare at in the cafeteria all of the time.

If you found that hard to believe (this is going too far but it's kind of fun) wait until you hear about what happened LAST NIGHT. He drove me home like I got into his van and he drove to my house. We met up in the music store, he talked to me and then offered to drive me home. We even listened to Motley Crue and talked the whole drive. He's a cool person too, not just a pretty face. I really enjoyed last night but I'm pretty sure I embarrassed myself more than once, I don't know what gets into me when I'm around him, it's like I turn completely brainless.

I hope I see him in school today, maybe I'll sit with him, Robin (conveniently) has to take up a half-hour shift at the Video Store during lunch break so she won't be there to sit with me. I doubt I'll have the balls to talk to him though, god I sound like I have a dumbass schoolgirl crush on this guy. Man, my thoughts aren't flowing well today.

Oh well, Steve is yelling at me now,

Later.

STEPHANIE LET out a sigh as she closed the cover to her journal, shoving the book under her mattress. She decided that, after yesterday, she should stop taking it to school, so now the journal's new home was in her room, permanently. She really couldn't think straight enough today to be able to write anything so she wasn't sure why she even picked the damned book up, probably just because she wanted to get her feelings out somehow, even if it was in the most chaotic way possible.

Stephanie rubbed her eyes as she stretched, she didn't want to go to school since she barely got any sleep last night after she got home. She kept replaying her time with Eddie over and over in her head. He was so sweet, and not to mention, he was super cute.

He had little dimples that would show up every time he smiled and she couldn't help but notice, on multiple occasions, how he would tuck his hair behind his ear whenever he'd get a bit flustered. She wasn't sure why he got this reputation for being all scary when, from the few times she met up with him, he was the sweetest guy ever.

It was just so refreshing to talk to him and she hoped she would have the opportunity to do it more often. Although there was an issue she had to fix, the fact that she could barely look him in the eye without blushing or losing the ability to form a coherent sentence would be a bit of a problem if she wanted to have some sort of friendship with him.

"I swear if I have to go up there–" Steve called out from downstairs, making Stephanie jump up from her bed and tug on the tight shirt she wore. Today she decided to switch up her style a bit and instead of wearing the average baggy jeans and a button-up shirt, she wore a pair of dark wash bell bottoms –despite the fact that they were considered 'out of style'– and a black t-shirt. She knew that this idea of switching her clothing up didn't come spontaneously, and deep down she knew it was because Eddie had told her she looked nice last night. It wasn't a big change, but it was something that made her express herself a bit more. Maybe she was trying to impress him, but this outfit was more her than any other one she's worn ever.
