STEPHANIE HARRINGTON walked into school Monday morning with pure confidence that she was going to ace her history test. All day yesterday was spent studying and studying because Stephanie decided to lock herself in her room in order to avoid her oh-so-pleasant guests. She wasn't going to talk or even look at her parents if it wasn't necessary, Steve even avoided them at all costs, if he wasn't in his own room, he was in Stephanie's or at the video store picking up an extra shift. Both siblings were done with their parents, even Saturday night, Stephanie walked through the door panting, afraid she was late for dinner when her mom told her that she didn't even notice the girl's absence.
Mother of the year, am I right?
Locking herself in her room did have some advantages though, she's got her homework finished and she even studied for all her tests enough that she was sure she'd at least do average on them. She also happened to be halfway through the term project that Mallory Rogers was supposed to help her with, but she was pretty sure the blonde didn't have enough sense to slap together a project.
Stephanie immediatly made her way to her locker, but cringed as soon as she saw Jason Carver standing by it. It was first thing in the morning, what was everyone's issue with cornering her as soon as she walked into school? She contemplated turning around and running away, she really didn't want to deal with him today. She decided to not do that though, might as well get it over with instead of anticipating it all day.
"What do you want?" Stephanie asked as soon as she approached him, opening her locker and throwing her jacket inside, it was cold for October so she needed to cover up a bit more. Especially since all her mother made her wear were frilly dresses that were so itchy and short. It was like the woman was trying to pimp her out.
"I want my ten bucks back." Jason stated, giving the girl a once-over, pig. Stephanie turned slowly towards him with furrowed brows.
"What?"
"I said I want my money back," He spoke lowly with a menacing tone that only made the girl cringe. Jason Carver was not scary, at least not right now, she had a history test right now and she really needed to get to class. Stephanie was sure that even Micheal Myers wouldn't phase her right now. Jason leaned closer to the girl that she could smell his expensive cologne, she took a step back. "I failed that damn essay."
"Essay?" Stephanie questioned, she was pretty sure he told her that she had to write a response. "You never told me to write an essay."
"Isn't it all the same thing?" He looked at her as if she was the stupid one. "I want my money back."
"Jason," Stephanie gave him a sarcastic smile as she shut her locker. "It's not my fault that your two brain cells couldn't rub together enough to make you remember the type of assignment you were getting someone else to write for you, so no, I'm not giving you your money back."
Like hell he was going to speak to her like that.
He grabbed her arm, making Stephanie reel back, she was about to spit out a few curses when someone spoke from behind her. "Is there a problem here?"
Eddie. Stephanie froze, turning to see him glaring at the hand Jason placed on her arm.
Jason scoffed, "Get lost, freak."
