"OH, BEFORE you go."
Stephanie paused at her mother's voice, she was about to go to school, clad in an obnoxious blue floral dress. She had decided to put curlers in her hair since she woke up way too early this morning, she even put on a bit of makeup. She didn't know where the courage came from, but she was more than happy it was there, even if she'd rather be wearing something that made her look less of a priss. Maybe the dark eyeliner around her eyes –lined thinly, her mother was still around– would even the whole look out. Even if Stephanie assumed her mother would hate her whole ensemble today, she didn't, her reaction was quite literally the opposite.
She complimented her.
That never happened.
Stephanie had eaten her breakfast and Steve had begun ushering her out of the house, but she was stopped short as soon as she heard her mother's voice again. The teenager turned to see what the woman wanted, but saw her holding up a familiar black leather jacket, "I washed this dreadful thing, you're free to wear it today, unfortunately, since I can't seem to find the coat I bought you." Stephanie thanked god for that, the dreadful fur coat would make her look too snobby if she wore it anywhere and she made a great effort to hide it deep into the attic where it'll hopefully be eaten by some sort of organism up there. "I'll have to get you another, it is getting chilly outside."
"Thanks, mom," Stephanie sent her an obnoxious smile, grabbing Eddie's jacket from her hands, and slipping it over her shoulders as she left the house. It no longer smelled like Eddie and now had the scent of the Harrington household, along with the soap her mother used when she hand-washed all her designer clothes. She claimed to never trust dry cleaners again.
Stephanie found the jacket fit her quite nicely, it was obviously larger since Eddie did had a more square frame than her but it suited her.
She jumped inside the car, and immediately met with Steve's voice, "Alright Punk-Princess, let's get this show on the road."
Stephanie scrunched her nose at the ridiculous nickname.
"What, so you're allowed to have weird names for me, but I can't?"
Stephanie sent him a false sympathetic look at the dramatic outburst, "Yeah well my nicknames are good."
"Fuck you."
Stephanie smiled sarcastically at him making Steve scoff in response, turning up the radio and backing out of the driveway.

STEPHANIE HARRINGTON officially despised the entire student body of Hawkins high. After receiving judgemental looks all day –that made her extremely uncomfortable– along with the five people she's been in a class with since elementary school who had asked if she was new here, she was finally relieved to be able to sit down with Robin Buckley during lunch period. Her initial plan was to eat with the Hellfire club but Gareth had called an emergency meeting so no Eddie for her until the assembly that was being held last period of the day.
She was kind of bummed because she has yet to see him today and she's been wearing his jacket, waiting to give it back to him. Although she wasn't complaining about being able to keep it for a bit longer, it was comfortable. No wonder why he seemed to spend every second wearing it.
