It had been a week since the Leviathan attacked. Things were slowly calming down as the kingdom was beginning to rebuild its society. However, there remained a predicament: Nagito and Kazuichi had to return to the surface. The idea of Nagito staying in the kingdom was too risky. The idea of transforming him into one of their own would cause possibly fatal stress on a human body.

Hajime knew that he had to take things into his own hands. Late one night, he decided to pay a visit to Angelyne. He had remembered what the Leviathan had said of her being a descendant of Obelia. If that kind of magic was powerful enough to turn a human into a sea creature, maybe the opposite was just as durable.

The moment he was at front of her door, his mind went blank. Was such a thing worth asking? What will happen if it backfires? The worst case scenarios continued to pace as he slowly backed away.

"Young Noble?" Angelyne asked as she popped her head out from the now ajar door. "You look troubled." She rubbed her tired eyes as she looked up at the Noble.

"I am sorry if I awakened you." Hajime apologized.

"Nonsense, I was meditating." She replied, ushering him in. "I know you are looking for a way for you and the human- I mean, Nagito, to be together."

He nodded anxiously. "The Leviathan told me that she was transformed by Obelia for falling in love with a merman."

"Obelia did have a history of being vain. She wanted the human separate from us and would do anything to keep it that way." Angelyne sighed. "That being said though, she is no longer ruler now. Chiaki and Izuru are."

"Lady Angelyne? Could the spell done on the Leviathan...can make a merman human?" Hajime asked, looking down.

Angelyne smiled. "I would assume that the Mating ritual isn't enough for you? You wish to stay with him forever?"

He silently nodded. His heart was racing out of his chest as he held his breath. The silence became tense as she thought about her answer.

"I would need a day to research it, but I think it can be doable. In case, I would suggest taking to Her Highness. After all, we still have the stone set rule."

'Oh shit...' Hajime cursed in his head. He remembered what Lord Kingler saying that because he was a Noble, he wasn't allowed to return to the surface. He clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white.

"Hajime? Are you alright?" Angelyne asked, waving her hands in front of his face. He remained silent as he snapped out of his thoughts.

"Y-yes, of course." He quickly blurted aa he bowed. "Thank you for your time, Lady Angelyne."

He slipped out of the room, closing the door behind him. He swam back to the hideout where Nagito was fast asleep on the cold ground. His right hand was dangling over the edge, the rippling waves barely touching his fingers. Hajime lightly brushed the sleeping boy's hair off his face, trying not to wake him up.

Hajime looked at the Natiluius, still destroyed from the battle. There was no way it will last long enough to get them back home. He felt selfish for thinking about himself rather than the safety of his love. Sighing, he returned to his room to rest for the night.

The next morning, Queen Chiaki was taking a stroll around the Royal gardens by herself. A lot of things had lingered in her mind all week. She was grateful for Nagito and Kazuichi's assistance in protecting her Kingdom. As much as she wanted to help them return home, their technology wouldn't be able to salvage their ship. Then, there was the matter of how to keep Hajime and Nagito together.

"I hate it when you think too hard." Izuru's soft voice tickled her ears as he hugged her from behind. "You're too young to have wrinkles."

"Ha ha, not funny." Chiaki replied, not feeling like joking around. Izuru sensed it and led her to a nearby bench. Looking at his concerned eyes, her heart dropped. "I am sorry...I have too much on my mind right now."
