_NAGITO_

It had been two and a half months since Nagito met Kazuichi...and half a year since he met Hajime. In a short period, he had felt so much emotions than he ever did. He missed embracing his merman lover as he would draw him in a spare sketchbook. Drawing in every detail from his bright eyes, to the scales on his arms, it was like staring in a photograph. However, a photograph was nothing compared to the real article.

"YO! You got visitors!" Kazuichi called down from outside.

Groaning, Nagito sat up, scratching the newly formed beard that grew on his face. He stepped outside to see Makoto, arms crossed and a smile on his face. He was joined with two long forgotten faces: Mikan and Mukuro. He almost tripped on his feet at the shock, but it was instantly replaced with dismay.

"Your ship is coming along well, Nagito." Makoto complimented. "Also...nice beard."

"Yeah, well...we haven't been getting a lot of rest lately." Nagito grunted as he jumped off the boat onto the dock. "May I ask about why she is here."

"Our agents arrested them on their way to the border." Makoto said. "They have stolen a priceless artifact which, from what we gather, Junko is going to use with that tear she collected."

Suddenly, anger began to boil inside as he clenched his fists. He let himself get caught in this mess, but Mikan kept on pushing the limit.

"Mukuro has agreed to reveal Junko's rendezvous point in exchange for a lighter sentence." Makoto continued, but hesitated when he turned to Mikan. "The higher-ups will be deliberating on Tsumiki's punishment for treason."

"So...you found her?" Nagito asked impatiently. Makoto nodded. "Good. Take me to her." He turned to Kazuichi and pointed at him. "I'll be back soon. I am still saving Hajime."

"I had no doubts, my friend." Kazuichi laughed. "Now, go kill that bitch!"

It took them two hours to reach the meeting spot: an abandoned construction site. It seemed unoriginal for Junko, but she was always the one to mix things up.

"Now, I have to go alone." Mukuro said. "I don't want her getting spooked."

"Fine. Just use that signal I showed you when it is time." Makoto replied, but just as Mukuro was about to get out of the car, he grabbed her by the arm. "Don't think for a second I won't kill you if you backstab me."

Mukuro growled as she stared him down. She immediately jumped out of the car the second he let go. She braced herself as the wind began to pick up as she walked further away from them.

Mikan kept silent as she began to feel uncomfortable being near Nagito. After what happened at the mansion, she had felt regret for leaving him behind.

"You look good." Nagito spoke. "Nice to see Junko is keeping you clean."

"Look, it isn't my fault that I stayed."
Mikan snapped. "I had a job to fulfill. Don't you think Junko would be suspicious if we both disappeared?"

"But you should have my back at all times!" Nagito seethed. "Not just mine, but Hajime's. We trusted you!"

Mikan tried to speak, but Makoto took off along with several soldiers. 'They found her'. Nagito slid his way to the door, but stopped when she called out his name. He chose to ignore it as he jumped out and took off running. Adrenaline was rushing through his veins as his legs ached as they pushed into the ground. 'She will pay, Hajime. For us.'

Junko cackled as she was surrounded by Future Foundation agents armed to the teeth. In her hands, she held the vial that contained the tear and a conch shell of sorts as she stood in front of a hole.

"Come on, you wimps!" She taunted. "Take your best shot!"

Makoto, who was in front of the group, stared her down as he pointed his gun at her. "It's over! Your reign of terror is over."

"Over? Why my dear delusional Makoto." Junko said with a devilish smile as she placed the conch down and opened the vial. "It hasn't even begun." (A/N: Batman: Arkham Asylum reference)

She poured the tear onto the shell which began to glow. She picked it up and levitated it over the hole before dropping it. The ground around them shook as a light emerged from the hole. It wasn't warm, but cold as a shiver went down Makoto's spine.

"I hope your so-called hope can beat the leviathan of despair!" She laughed as she took out two guns out of her holsters and began shooting. Makoto dodged her bombardment of bullets, but some of the agents were struck point blank. He ducked behind a crate when he saw Nagito appeared from a corner a few feet away from Junko.

"NAGITO! RUN!" He screamed, but no avail. Junko caught his eye and began taking aim, but Nagito was faster as he threw a dagger into her right knee.

"ARGH!" She screamed in pain, distracted at her injury. Makoto saw this and immediately shot her other leg, causing her fall down. He took off and kicked her guns away before stepping on her back.

Nagito panted as he took out his gun and removed all but one bullet from the barrel. Junko still continued to laugh to herself, coughing up blood in the process as she saw him staring her down.

"My...pet..." She said. "I knew you would come back to...me. You knew that I was the only one...who could bring you real despair."

He said nothing as he cocked the gun and aimed it at her head.

* "Do you love me?"

The room was so cold that she was talking to the wind. For the first time, he gave her a despair inducing smile which caught her off guard.

"Are you holding your breath in the hope that I will lie?" He seethed. She couldn't say anything but gasp, so he ended her misery in one shot.*
