The Garden

((Max's POV))

"Alice, Alice wait..." She acts like she doesn't hear me, and just storms out of the room. A few people look at her on her way out, either with pity or disproval. Jerome pulls the sheet out from under Jason's limp arms, then over his face. Indy has a blank look on his face, and he, too, turns and leaves.

"Max, why don't you go with your friends?" Sky asks quietly. I nod slowly and follow the path between bloody tables and scattered bandages back to the door.

When I get outside, I see my dads talking. Well, more like Brice is talking and Seto is covering his face. He's shaking, and he sounds choked. I never thought I would see him cry...

"Max, let's leave them for now." I feel a hand on my shoulder, and immediately spin around to see the man in the green shirt that saved Ethan. He nods in Ethan's direction, and with nothing better to do, I follow.

Max, this is Sub. He's very overprotective. Ethan says. Sub chuckles.

"I wouldn't need to be if you didn't get yourself into trouble all the time! Let's go for a walk, I think Max would like to see something." Ethan looks confused, then smiles softly and nods. I'm not sure what's going on, but I think this is better than awkwardly hanging around my dads right now.

"Um, okay. Sure." Sub puts his arm around Ethan, who seems to automatically do the same. I walk a few feet behind them as they go through a hall out to the courtyard.

The courtyard is a large rectangle with an archway leading to what looks like a garden. I never actually went there, we always trained in the courtyard. It seems that's changing today.

"How much did you know about Jason?" Sub asks. Now that I think about it, not much. I don't really trust my knoll age anymore, either.

"That... he was really important in the first war. He's good with technology and he is- he was one of the big trio. I never really figured much out about that." Sub nods, like he's not surprised by my amount of information. I'm not sur show to take that.

"Jason was in charge of all flight operations, and even got the Sky Army a space station. He loved it up there. In his spare time, he would write music, or hang out with Sky and Deadlox. The three were always together, and if they had to separate, they would find ways to stay in touch." He stops walking, and Ethan sighs before walking over to a stone bench.

The garden is actually pretty nice. A small pond sits behind the bench, and a willow hangs over the bench. Flowering shrubs of all colors, shapes, and sizes circle the area, and koi fish swim peacefully in the pond. Moss surrounds the pond, not grass, giving it a softer look. I would love to paint this place.

This is were we met up for the first time. They built a castle by it, then later, a kingdom. When we met up here for the first time, we were young than you. I remember Ty and Seto were nine. Sub nods, and Ethan sighs again, then smiles slightly.

"You weren't fighting when you were that young, were you?" I ask. Ethan shakes his head.

"We knew there was something wrong with the world, but didn't know what. As we got older, we started participating in protests against the government. People found Sky was a very good public speaker, Deadlox was good at keeping people safe, and Jason has was of rigging anything he touched. Before they even knew what was happening, they had an army of people ready to defend these symbols of hope." Before he can continue on much, I hear the padding sound of someone walking on moss. All three of us turn around to see Dawn, who looks sympathetic and sad.

"Max, there you are. Indy and Alice have been given breakfast, why don't you join them?" I look at Sub and Ethan, who both gesture for me to go ahead, so I shrug and follow Dawn back indoors.

I'm sorry if I misspelled things, I am not fond of Wattpad's new editing system.
