((Alice's POV))
I open my eyes to find myself in a weird room. Sunlight is streaming through creaks in the messily placed boards, and my things are sitting on the edge of the bed. That's when I notice I'm not in my pajamas, just my tang top and boxers. Uh... okay.
A quick look around the room shows I'm not alone. There's a kid in the corner of the room, asleep, sitting on a stool and leaning against the wall. He's dressed strangly, like a character in some adventure story I would read.
"Uh... Hello?" I snap my fingers, and the kid sits up sleepily. He rubs his eyes, and I notice they are two startlingly different colors. He looks at me, then seems to notice I'm awake.
"Hi! I was starting to think you'd never wake up! Here, eat this, I'll go get Mitch and Jerome!" I'm handed a loaf of bread, then the boy leaves the room, smiling. What the Neather was that about? I'm starving, though, so I'm not complaining about the bread.
I look around the room again as I eat. There is one door, the way the kid went out, but I didn't see anything as he left about my surroundings. The air is crisp and clear, and I can hear people talking faintily. Huh.
I reach to the end of the bed and check to see if all of my things are there. One knife, one set of (now clean) pajamas, and an envelope. I had forgotten about that. Maybe I should open it... Naw. I'll check it out later, once I'm sure someone won't walk into my room randomly.
I notice that the stool the boy had been sitting on has a short green cloak sitting on it, and it seems to be covering somthing. A box? A book? I'm tempted to try to see what it is, but I'm not sure how well I can walk, if I twisted anything or some crap like that.
The door opens and the kid runs in, followed by two guys. One has on a fluffy hat and a worn out suit, while the other sports a more casual outfit of jeans and some layered shirts.
"You're awake! You slept through an entire day, we got worried. Max said you'd make it, and you did!" The more casual guy says. I nod slowly, not sure how to respond to this.
"That's Mitch, and he's Jerome." The boy says. I'm guessing Max. "They saved you. Now, we need to talk to you, is your memory intact?" I think back, and remember hearing the two men's voices before. I nod.
"Yeah... Although I kinda wish I didn't. What do you need to know?" Mitch walks over to Max's stool, and he quickly snatches whatever he has under the cloak. Mitch just frowns at him slightly, then takes the stool and sits down near the door.
"First, are you related to Sky? You look like him." Jerome says. I cross my arms, frustrated by this comment.
"Listen, I have no idea who this Sky character is! The guy that attacked me at the house said somthing about Sky when he saw me, then dad showed up and smaked him over the head with a stick! He gave me the knife and told me to run for it, to find his friends in the forest. He said to tell them..." I think for a second, "To tell them that Sky is in danger, and they need to get to the castle as soon as possible." Mitch and Jerome exchange glances, and seem to have a silent conversation before Mitch speaks up.
"You're dad... Sunglasses, brown hair, purple amulet surrounded in gold-"
"Budder." I correct him audomadically. Max makes a sound that's a mixutre of amusement and confusion. Well she can shut the fuck up, I do what I want.
"Yeah, you're Sky's daughter alright." Mitch says, slighty amused as well. In pure frustration, I rip off a piece of bread and throw it at him. It misses, but I don't care.
"Tell me what the fuck is going on right fucking now! My parents have vanished, I don't know where I am, and there's a short kid from some adventure novel standing next to me! Now you will tell me what the Neather is going on, or-"
"Alright, alright, chill out." Jerome says, also amused looking. I'm actually relieved he stopped me, I have no reasonable threats.
"You're dad, he's an awsome dad, for starters. He was a beacon of hope in the war, and a brilliant leader. We fought with him, we were a team." I calm down a bit, interested. Dad was a leader?
"We knew a lot of people from everywhere, even some people who ventured out of Minecraftia-" Jerome continues. Mitch fake coughs a name that sounds like "Jordan."
"Yeah, like him. Not quite sure where he is, but I'm sure he's in one piece. Pretty sure... Anyway, we fought against the Squid Army, and we were loosing pretty badly. Then one day, it was over. Turns out the enemy king found Sky in battle, and challenged him. Well, Sky had a lot of issues with the king, he had killed off one of his best friends, so the king fell almost instantly. We thought it was all over." I blink, thinking I know where this is going.
"Did... the castle catch fire? I... I had this dream where everything was burning. Mom and I ran, dad told us to... did that happen?" Mitch nods gravley.
"Yeah, it did. I remember everyone running... it happened to soon. That's when Sky decided he didn't want that life anymore. He didn't want his kid to raised in such a crazy place, always close to death. We told him we'd cover for him, managed to get you and your mother out of there. That is, if we have the right kid. Your name is Alice, correct?" I nod, and max speaks up for the first time.
"Holy shit. Are you, like, the heir?" Jerome nods.
"Yep. Alice is the heir to the kingdom of Minecraftia."
