((Alice's POV))
For once, I'm with Max on something to do with Indy. Why did he run out like that? The past while I've known him, he's never done that. Ever. How long have we all known each other now, two weeks? Enough time to learn how someone acts.
"Oh my gosh! Alice!" I hear someone yell my name, and seconds later find myself crushed in a hug. I glance over at Max, who looks just as confused as I feel.
"Um... hi?" Well, how else should I react?! The lady stops hugging me, and something sparks in the back of my mind. Purple and pink hair, mismatched eyes...
"Wait... I know you. You knew my dad, right?" She grins.
"You remember me! Oh, you were so little! I used to date your dad, but after we got engaged we split. Stayed friends, though. I remember he would let me watch you while your parents were out saving Minecraftia... Oh, I'm sorry! I'm Dawn, if you didn't remember." I smile. She seems nice enough, although I kinda feel like everyone dated my dad...
"Dad didn't tell me anything about this, and mom told me my memories were just dreams. It's a bit of a shock. A shock for all of us." Dawn seems to notice Max at this moment.
"Oh, are you with her? Who may you be?" Max holds out his hand, and Dawn smiles. They shake.
"I'm Maxia Solace. My parents are Seto and Brice Solace. There's one other guy with us, who Alice seems to hate." I cross my arms.
"I don't hate him, I just know he's hiding something!" Max's face turns red.
"I know he's hiding stuff from you, maybe if you were nicer he would trust you like he trusts me!" Now my face heats up. Dawn looks unamused.
"Stop fighting! Now everyone is going to get along. Trust me, I know this. Where is he now? What's his name?" I nod at Max. I got food to eat, he can talk. My sushi is calling me.
"His name is... He calls himself Indy." Huh, did Indy tell his real name to Max? Sounded like he was catching himself from something...
"He lived with Mitch and Jerome in that huge tree house city thing, but after we heard them talking about me, my dad, and a book, I freaked out and the three of us decided to team up and just go. Alice had a basic idea on where the castle was, Indy knew how to survive, and I was the reason we were running. We just sorta made a team." Dawn's light and carefree expression darkens.
"Book? Seto didn't give you his spell book, did he?" Max shifts uncomfortably on his seat. Okay, time to save him.
"Max's book seems harmless. Sure, he scared us, we wen't expecting it to come with a hologram, but Max seems chill with it." Dawn shakes her head.
"Seto swore he locked it up. It's dangerous. It wants to take over your mind. Don't let yourself give in. That thing nearly destroyed Seto." Then, she frowns. "Wait, are you a sorcerer as well? How?" Max doesn't even care about that question anymore. Everyone. Asks. Him. That.
"I'm adopted. Apparently." Dawn nods, but says nothing. Then, to my surprise, Indy walks over and sits next to Max.
"Sorry I ran off like that. A lot of stuff on my mind. Sam showed me around a bit. She's the girl in purple." Max smiles and relaxes a bit now that Indy is here. Heck yeah I noticed that, Max.
"Indy, this is Dawn." I say, trying to sound nicer than usual. Instead, I sound sickishly sugarcoated. Yeah, not trying that again.
"I feel like I know you from somewhere..." Dawn says. Indy immediately looks down.
"I'm sure you don't. I think i would remember you. Max, Sam says she would like to talk to you. Something about how you would be interested in where she's from." Max tilts his head, interested. Dawn stops looking at Indy, trying to figure out who he is, and smiles at Max.
"Yes. Sam just got here two or three months ago with five others. She's from the realm of Mianite, so if you feel a little odd living in a castle, just remember she's new to this entire world." Max's jaw drops, and I swear Indy laughed quietly when he did so.
"Mianite?! Dad told me about that place! It's full of unknown magics, and they have wizards and gods that visit the people! I would love to go, but dad says going from realm to realm is really hard and makes you really tired." I have no idea what he's talking about, I pretty much heard "blah blah magic blah blah blah realms." Indy seems confused as well, and nods slowly. I imagine him smiling as well.
Smile and nod Indy, smile and nod.
"Dawn! You're needed at the front gates!" Someone yells. Dawn gets up, shoots me another smile, and leaves. I pick up another piece of sushi and pop it into my mouth.
"Why did she say she knew me? I don't think I know anyone named Dawn." Indy says uncertainly. I shrug.
"Dunno. She said she dated my dad. Has everyone dated my dad?!" Indy's eyebrows get scrunched together and I imagine he's frowning.
"Why did she say she knew me though? It's not like she can even see my face. I swear, if I get another person calling me a squid, I will be so pissed." Max laughs and puts his arm around Indy, holding him tight. Indy's face turns a bit pink at this. Is he mad at Max? I feel like he could easily get out of that situation though...
"I'd never call you a Squid! I'm on your side, don't worry!" Indy nods, and pushes away from Max slightly.
"No hugs." He states simply. Max just shrugs and goes back to... what even is that?
"Max, what the Neather in on your plate?" I ask. His face flushes.
"Uh... it was a potato, but I remembered a spell I tried to learn when I was little that turns any food into candy floss... and this happened. I'm not quite sure what it is anymore." Indy snorts and I laugh. For a moment, everything is fine. Everything is perfect, like nothing is going wrong.
Just for a moment.
