046: let's comeback

"Well don't you look like a darling?" Hange muses from her place, and I swiftly turn to look at her, initially unaware that she was in the premise.

With a small, reserved chuckle, I tucked a stray strand of my hair as I tidied my desk from all the papers I had finished for the upcoming expedition.

"Ya' think? This was the dress you bought me last year."

Hange grows in smug and pride, raising her eyebrows and patting the sides of my shoulder as she eyes me up and down, scanning the fabric of the clothing she had gifted me from before.

"As I expected, it suits you. Maybe I do really have a thing for fashion too."

I laughed, loud and obnoxious as I took a step back to grab the folders that should be delivered to Erwin right now. I had planned to finish up all of my tasks so I could finally go on a due visit to a special place. "Alright, fashionista, I got to go. These papers need passing."

"Where are you going anyway? What's with the get up?"

Humming, I placed a hand over my chin. I didn't want to be secretive, but this was a valued visit that I had been keeping from everyone else, vaguely at least.

"I'm going to see someone I haven't met in a while."

Hange raises her eyebrows in question, that familiar gleam of curiosity shining in her eyes reflected by her glasses that made me gulp. I knew that if I didn't get out of here she wouldn't leave me alone.

"Is it Levi?"

I sighed, rolling my eyes and huffing. "I said someone I haven't met in a while, Hange. I literally share the same room with Levi, I see him every single day as much as I hate to." Him and his very... distracting face and overly fit build and his scent that lingers in our space.

She shrugs. "Oh well. I'm just kind of surprise. Everybody's real busy with the preparations and here you are all dolled up, I was wondering you'd go on a date."

"The world might end soon if that happens."

She scoffs. "Don't be like that! I'm sure Levi would love to take you out."

"With a blade to the throat, then yes."

Groaning, she turns her back towards me and heads for the door, in distress at my replies. "Whatever. Have fun and be back because we'll leave before sunset tomorrow."

"Yes Ma'am." I salute, before going on my own way and heading for Erwin's office. With a quick knock, and his quick reply of "come in" I made my way inside his work space. His desk was exceptionally clean than most days, and he looked rather calm despite the high stake mission to undergo tomorrow.

"I got the papers finished." I spoke, and he turned to look up to me, his nonchalant facade replaced with a small, tight-lipped smile as he scans my look as well.

"Already?" he says.

Nodding, I stepped forward and placed the folders, making sure it was organized as he set it aside, paying attention to my presence now.

"You looked well dressed." he compliments, and I smile at him, wide. "I told you about it last night, I hope I still have your permission and I am well aware that it is imposing as someone of my rank, but I'm not abusing my power. I'll make up for it with-"

"You can go." He interrupts, with a genial grin as he motions his hand. "I'm aware how... sentimental this is for you. You can go. You've been working hard. The young cadets would say the same if they knew."
