059: could be better
It's dark out. The velvet of the night blending perfectly with the abyss shallows of the sea. They reflect each other. The water mirrors the position of the stars, and wavers in soft tunes brought forth by the waves. A single interruption could rupture the calmness of the resting seawater.
The rough push of the expanse made it apparent that something was approaching. Eren's transformed Titan sat idly in the corner, masked by the veil of the pitch black, it laid still like a predator waiting to pounce on it's prey.
The light that seemed to just float above the waters slowly came into view. It was a boat. A big one, as suspected, and truly a marvel for the eye. I could practically feel Hange vibrating from where I was hiding, in her excitement. It was different from our boats, it was forged and breaded by some kind of metal, forgoing all the outdated technologies we possessed. It was an era of its own, and I would be lying if I professed I wasn't any sort of curious.
Eren's weight lifted against the resting waters, causing huge waves rolled over one another as he lifted the both on his shoulder, steps heavy as approached the shore, brining the boat with a loud smack against the rough ground. His body steamed, either from the effort or from the transformation, I wasn't so sure.
Silent gasps and loud shouts of shock could be heard from the people aboard. Before any of us could react, Hange was running her head off in fervent enthusiasm.
"Hello, friends from Marley! Welcome to Paradis Island! " She waved her hands in the air. "I'm Hange! I'm here to greet our guests who have come so far across the sea! Now step this way and join us for some tea!" She motions, exaggerate.
I tethered my feet to shift my weight towards the right, restless at the very... troublesome skit she always manages to conjure up. Levi held the Marleyan captive in his hold, prisoned from the former voyages sent ever since Reiner and Zeke's retreat and the man looked to be terrified at the ordeal, frankly. What was his name again? Nico... something along those lines.
"By the way, we're already friends with this guest that arrived before you!" Hange quips, even going the extra mile to pat said captive in the back. I held back a sigh. "Isn't that right, Niccolo?" She slings her arm around him. So that was his name, I remembered then.
Another voyage today, they must be desperate for some sort of leverage. Revenge.
Levi pressed the blade discreetly place behind Niccolo's back, urging the man to follow up this ridiculous act.
"Captain!" Niccolo suddenly shouts. "Forget about me and shoot these devils!"
Boy. What the hell are we even trying to do at his point. My body was growing weary with every second, craving the sleep I had been imagining earlier.
"What are you saying, Niccolo?" Hange forces it, an attempt to save the situation, but it was actively futile. This guy didn't seem to care about getting sliced right here and now, that I could respect at the least.
"Captain!" He rejects Hange's words.
"He's tired of your shitty skit." Levi mutters.
I stifled a yawn. "Niccolo!" The captain on board calls. "Understand this, you devils! Marley doesn't mingle with filthy blood!"
We we're filthy now, huh? And to think Levi forces me to bathe every single day without missing a beat. He points the gun at us, hostile. "Go drink your pig piss with your filthy friends!"
"Ya' sure you wanna be rude to us?" I shouted back. "Can't you see that Titan behind you?"
Eren's Titan stood behind, unyielding. He looked... horrifying, if you weren't used to the sight of a huge giant morphed into some godly being. His eyes shone a shade emerald, piercing and looking down upon the inhabitants of the boat.
