"Ugh come on you stupid beetle!" Odetta yelled, while flicking her wand with frustration.
She was now in her transfiguration class, as it was her 5th class of the day. The thing is, Odetta sucks at transfigurations.
"It's really not that hard detta. Just look." Marlene said.
Odetta turned her head to look at the blonde girl as she turned her beetle into a button on her first try.
"Damnit this is not fair!" Odetta yelled once again, giving up on trying to transfigure her beetle.
"Language, Ms. Lynch." Professor McGonagall said sternly.
"Sorry Minnie!" Odetta called back out to the old woman, and began trying to transfigure her beetle once again, getting frustrated once she can't do so.
A few seats down, James noticed Odetta struggling to transfigure her beetle.
He let out a sigh of defeat as he lifted his wand and turned her beetle into a button, so that he wouldn't have to hear her complain any longer.
"Yes! I finally did it!" Odetta almost cried from happiness.
"But you're wrong." James said a little loudly, so that Odetta could hear him.
"How? It's a button now." Odetta said as she picked up her beetle, now button, and showed it to James.
"Because I'm the one who transfigured your beetle detta. Not you. I was just simply tired of hearing you complain about something so easy." James said with a smirk.
Odetta huffed at him before turning around and sitting with her arms crossed over her chest.
At the end of class, professor McGonagall signaled for Odetta to stay behind after class ended.
Once everyone left, Odetta started speaking.
"Why did I have to stay after professor?" The brunette girl asked. "Did I do something wrong?"
"Not quite." Professor McGonagall replied.
"So then what am I here for?" Odetta asked, once again.
"So we both know how you're almost failing out of my class right?" McGonagall started, as Odetta nodded her head.
"I want to get you a tutor." McGonagall said, continuing.
"Who is it going to be?" Odetta said with slight panic, as James the had highest grades in the class for their entire house.
"Mr. Rosier. You can come in now." McGonagall said, talking to someone who had just approached the door.
Suddenly, a tall, dark haired boy walked into the room.
"Take a seat Mr Rosier." McGonagall told the boy who had just walked in.
Odetta recognized him quickly. "Evan Rosier. But he's a Slytherin." She thought. There was absolutely no way McGonagall would have her doing anything with a Slytherin. Did she not know that they were basically rival houses?
Once Rosier took a seat, McGonagall began speaking.
"As you can tell by the obvious context clues from this whole encounter, I'm pretty sure what I'm going to say next won't startle you." She started.
Odetta's jaw dropped slightly. There was no way.
"Mr. Rosier will be your tutor for a few weeks, in hopes to get your grades up for my class. He has the best grades in your year, and I am sure he will be a good influence on you."
"But-" Odetta started.
"You two are to meet in here 3 times a week, at 7:00 pm, after the day is over. Do I make myself clear?" McGonagall said sternly.
