365 Days Contract [EDITING]

Chapter 8

I was on my best behavior in the backseat. Doon ako nakaupo samantalang si George ang nasa harapan. They are talking about something that I don't understand. It's all about Calen's business and stocks.

Calen owns the most prominent wine company in the nation and has branches all around the world. I searched it on the internet and I am not even aware of that! I am working for his company without even knowing anything.

Puro pag-aayos lang naman ang papeles ang ginagawa ko tapos i-susubmit sa team manager bago iparating kay Calen. That's what all I do, so it's normal for me not to know all the details.  All I know is that he's rich.

I chatted with Lexie over this matter.

iamlexie:

Hindi naman na ako magugulat kung wala kang alam. You didn't even know u're pregnant. lololol

I was about to type when I saw her typing. Hinintay ko muna ang sasabihin niya.

iamlexie:

R u even sure that he's the father?

Kumunot ang noo ko bago mag-type. Calen was glancing at me through his rear-view mirror.

itsLAVender:

Of course, I am! He was the last guy I had sex with! And we didn't even have protection. Anong tingin mo sa akin?!

I turned off the phone. Lexie and I never really had serious talks. Ang sarap niyang nguyain para matauhan.

"Who is that?" Calen glanced at me again through the mirror. Tinaas pa niya ang kaniyang kamay para pahintuin si George sa pagsasalita.

"Just a friend," Maikling sabi ko.

"What's the name?" He asked seriously.

Hindi siya mapirmi sa pag-dri-drive dahil tinitingnan niya ako nang paulit-ulit sa rear-view mirror. Pinanood ko ang ekspresyon niya. He looked agitated and curious.

"It's Lexie. The girl you just met. Bakit? Curious ka?" Nagtaas ako ng kilay.

"Yeah," he didn't deny. Tumango pa talaga siya!

Tumahimik na lang ako. Mariin niya akong tiningnan sa huling pagkakataon bago nilingon si George.

"Make a new contract, George. Itapon mo na 'yung pinagawa ko sa'yo kanina." Calen said with a full baritone voice.

Agad akong napaligon sa kaniya. What did he mean?!

"I'll add something..." dagdag ni Calen sa sinabi at sinulyapan niya ulit ako.

Lumapit ako sa kaniya at dinungaw ang driver seat. Bahagya akong tumayo nang kaunti. "What do you mean you'll add something? Is it the contract between us or not?"

"Goodness, Lav!" gulat na sabi ni Calen at mabilis na binagalan ang takbo ng sasakyan. Kumunot ang noo ko.

"What if you fall?! Umupo ka nga!" he raised his voice. He's being dramatic!

Ngumuso ako bago sundin ang sinabi niya. "You're dramatic, Calen. Mas ma-drama ka pa sa buhay na kinekwento ni Charo Santos." inirapan ko siya.

"You're pregnant, Lav! What do you want me to do?! Laugh my ass off?!" he looked so pissed.

I crossed my arms and looked away. Ayaw na ayaw kong pinagtataasan ng boses. I got that a lot from my parents before and getting it again from him makes me upset!
