Chapter 40

Ravi giggled once more when Calen whispered something to her. Hindi ko iyon narinig kaya mas lalo akong nagalit! Bumigat ang paghinga ko at mabilis na nagtungo sa kanila.

"Ravi, come here!"

Mabilis kong inagaw si Ravi kay Calen. Napalunok si Calen sa ginawa ko at hindi na muling umangal pa. Ravi was also shocked.

"Don't. Touch. Her." I warned him.

I glared at him. He looked away and nodded his head slowly.

"Mommy...Scary..." Ravi was terrified of me. Mabilis ko siyang inalo, pero mabilis nang namula ang kaniyang ilong at pati pisngi.

"Hush, Ravi. Mommy is sorry. I didn't mean to scare you—"

Ravi started sobbing. Noong una ay mahina lang ang pag-iyak niya ngunit lumakas iyon. The chicken plush toy fell from her hands. She started bawling.

This was the first time she had cried like this. She hiccuped. She was hardly breathing.

"C-Chippen..." She said as she bawled louder while pointing her finger to the chicken plush toy on the ground.

Mabilis na pinulot iyon ni Calen. He looked stressed and tensed. Hindi niya rin alam ang gagawin habang pinapanood si Ravi na umiiyak.

"Here..." Calen said nervously.

Ravi extended her arms to get it—or that was what I thought. She's extending both her arms to Calen. Gusto niyang sumama sa kaniya.

"Ravi, no!" Mabilis ko siyang sinaway at nilayo. Mas lalo lang siyang umiyak.

"S-scary..." She said between her sobs as she extended her arms towards him more. Kaunting pag-abot pa ay malalaglag na siya kaya hinigpitan ko lalo ang hawak sa kaniya.

"Ravi, stop it. Listen to Mommy."

Mabilis kong tiningnan si Calen nang masama. He looked so confused. Aba! Parang nagpapanggap pa siya na hindi niya iyon kasalanan! Ravi likes people! Kung hindi niya sana binuhat ang anak ko ay hindi sana siya ganito!

I snatched the chicken plush toy in his hand. Inabot ko iyon kay Ravi. Ravi immediately held it but still trying to reach Calen.

"Ravi!" Saway ko ulit. Tumalikod ako para hindi makita ni Ravi si Calen pero nilingon niya ulit siya.

I had no choice but to walk away from him. Ravi's whimper became louder. Halos magwala na siya habang bitbit-bitbit ko. Nakita kong nahulog ulit ang plush toy na hawak niya, pero hindi ko na pinulot iyon.

"Ravi, behave, okay?" Hinaplos ko ang buhok niya. I tapped her back to calm her down, but she kept crying.

"M-Mom..." Kinakabahang sabi ko kay Mommy nang makapasok sa bahay. Ravi was not stopping.

"Oh my! Why is she crying?!" Nagulantang din si Mommy nang makita si Ravi. This was their first time seeing her like this. She cried before, but never like this.

"Why, apo? Why are you crying?" Sinubukan ni Daddy na kunin si Ravi ngunit hindi iyon umepekto.

"Down! Down! Down!" Paulit-ulit na sinasabi ni Ravi.

"Ravi, Tito is here. Come to Tito Zion." Malambing na sabi ni Zion. Zion tried to hold her, but he failed, too. His jaw dropped. He looked so hurt after Ravi rejected her.

"Good afternoon, Ma'am, Sir, Zion." I heard Calen in front of the door. Ravi started bawling louder again.

"C-Calen! Come inside!" Mom ushered Calen in. Nilingon ko siya at mabilis na inirapan. Naglakad ako papalayo para hindi siya makita ni Ravi.
