Chapter 27

"So, you're telling me that you are pregnant, and you've been hiding it from me for months now?"

Napalunok ako. My hands are trembling. "I-I'm sorry," Iyon lang ang nasabi ko.

Napahilot si Zion sa kaniyang sintindo. Rinig ko ang malakas na pagsipsip ni Lexie sa iced coffee niya. God, she's making everything worse! Tapos itong si Calen ay hindi man lang umiimik!

"I knew this would fucking happen. I should've taken care of you or locked you inside your unit."

"D-Don't tell mom and dad, please! I-I'm begging you!" Nanginginig na sabi ko.

Napasinghap siya. Napalunok ulit ako. If Zion would tell our parents about this, this would be the end of me. I can't disappoint them. Not now. I haven't proven myself to them yet.

Zion looked at Calen. "How much money do you have?"

"I have a lot of money. I can't even count how much they are." Seryosong sagot ni Calen.

Zion became quiet. His eyes traveled from Calen's head up until his toe. Binalik ni Zion ang tingin sa mga mata ni Calen. Zion heaved a sigh, then looked at me.

Sumimsim si Zion sa iced coffee niya na mukhang tubig na dahil natunaw na lahat ng yelo. Sinukbit na niya ulit ang bag sa isang balikat at tumayo na.

"W-Wait! Where are you going?!" Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya.

His forehead creased. "School?"

"Y-You're not going to tell our parents, right?" Kabado kong tanong.

"What? Of course, no! Why would I tell them?" Mas lalong kumunot ang noo niya.

"Because you are obliged to? Or because you're, maybe, disappointed in me?" I bit my lips.

Zion sighed again. Lumapit siya sa akin at ginulo ang buhok ko. I can't believe that he's acting more mature than me when he's younger than me!

"It's not my place to tell them. And why would I be disappointed in you? I admit that I'm mad because you didn't tell me right away, but it didn't change the way how I see you."

"R-Really?"

Tumango siya. "Yeah,"

Mabilis niyang sinulyapan si Calen sa gilid ko bago binalik ang tingin sa akin. "But tell mom and dad about this right away. It's better to tell them the truth before it's too late, okay?"

Zion kissed my forehead. Napapikit ako at napakagat ng ibabang labi.

"Take care of yourself and update me. Don't hide anything from now on. You can rely on me too."

Sumikip ang dibdib ko. How can I tell Zion that I am planning to leave everything behind after I give birth? How can I tell him that I am not ready to settle down? How can I say to him that all of this is nothing but only a contract created for the baby that I'm bearing?

"I hate you!"

I stomped my feet while walking upstairs. Nakasunod sa likuran ko si Calen. Mabilis ang kabog ng dibdib ko dahil sa inis.

"What did I do again—"

"You know about it, Calen! Why are you still asking me?!"

Mabilis akong pumasok at malakas na sinara ang pintuan. Sumunod sa akin si Calen at nakakunot ang kaniyang noo.

"I didn't do anything wrong—"

"Yes, you fucking did!" Singhal ko. "Umalis ako ng condo dahil ayaw kong malaman ng kapatid ko na buntis ako! All of my efforts are now wasted! He already found out the truth!"
