Chapter 41

"Do you like it?" Tanong ko kay Ravi nang makitang sinubo na niya ang waffle na hinanda ni Calen kanina.

"Yeah!" Sagot niya at sumayaw-sayaw pa habang kumakain sa kaniyang upuan.

She didn't use any utensils. Hinahawakan na lang niya iyon at sinusubo. There were sliced strawberries and bananas for her too. Nagkalat na rin ang maple syrup sa pisngi niya.

Nakangiti lang ako habang pinapanood si Ravi na kumakain. I loved how her chubby cheeks became more chubby when she stuffed food inside her mouth and chewed it.

Calen prepared this breakfast for us. Sa dining hall kami kumain. Pagkatapos niya iyong ihanda sa amin ay umakyat siya sa itaas. I don't know what he's doing.

Habang abala ako sa pagkain ng breakfast, naamoy ko ang isang pamilyar na amoy. A mint scent. I looked behind my back and saw Calen.

Nang magtama ang mata naming dalawa ay mabilis akong napaiwas ng tingin at bumalik sa pagkain.

"Hi!" Ravi greeted him. She even tilted her head while smiling sweetly at him.

"Hi..." Calen whispered, but it was enough for me to hear it.

"Here! Here!" Kumuha si Ravi ng isang slice ng strawberry. Ravi's hand was all sticky because of maple syrup.

"Ravi, no." Saway ko kaagad. I don't want Ravi to feel rejected if Calen rejects her offer. Baka maarte 'tong si Calen. Ravi is a mess right now.

"Here!" Ravi said once again before going down from her chair. She went down carefully but lost balance when she landed on the floor. Napaupo siya doon sa sahig.

"Ravi!" Balak ko sanang lumapit sa kaniya para tingnan kung nasaktan siya kaso ay bigla siyang tumayo at tumakbo papalayo sa akin.

With her tiny steps, she ran towards Calen. Calen looked shocked at first before his expression changed.

"Here!" Tinaas ni Ravi ang kamay niyang may hawak na strawberry. She even tiptoed her small feet as if she could reach Calen's mouth.

Calen glanced at me first before kneeling in front of Ravi and eats the strawberry she was holding.

"Thank you," Calen smiled at her. Nakatitig lang siya sa mukha ni Ravi. Ravi giggled because of what Calen said.

I pursed my lips and looked away. I want to get Ravi away from him, but what can I do? My daughter likes him. I don't want to see Ravi crying her eyes out again because of him.

Just 7 months. 7 months and all of this will be finished. Ravi will forget him when we go back to the US. Just like a typical kid, she would forget him. I hope she will erase him from her memory. I don't want my daughter to be hurt.

Pagkatapos naming kumain ay bumalik kami sa loob ng kwarto. I showered Ravi first. Balak kong pumunta sa mall para bumili ng ilang gamit. I need body wash, skin care products, shampoo, and clothes for Ravi and me.

I dressed Ravi in a pastel yellow dress. Habang binibihisan ko si Ravi ay pumasok si Calen sa loob ng kwarto.

"You're going somewhere?" He asked.

Tumango ako. "I'm going to buy some important things for us. Mabilis lang iyon." Malamig na sabi ko.

"I'm going with you."
