Eva pointed her sword at her opponent, giving her the win.

"Looks like you lose again, Link."

He rolled his eyes and she put her sword away, helping him up. Then, a guard came running towards them.

"Link! Eva! The kingdom is under attack! You need the come back to the castle to attend the small meeting before!"

"Alright, we're on our way. Link, you go ahead and get suited up."

He nodded and ran after the officer, leaving Eva behind.

King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule stood on the gate, standing before his guards.

"Listen well, soldiers of Hyrule. In our long history, we have scarcely faced a threat of this magnitude. The years have passed quickly since Calamity Ganon's revival was prophesied. Yes, we have unearthed the Divine Beasts and filled volumes with our knowledge of ancient relics.

"But a barricade of books will not protect us. Because this way surges a horde as we have never faced before. Even now the enemy is clawing for our throat--for Hyrule Castle itself. We must exterminate the monsters roaming the Hyrule field. Thus will begin our renewed effort to stop the Calamity! Here, now, go forth! And be brave for your kingdom!"

All the soldiers, including Link, raised their swords in the air, with determined looks on their faces. They all ran towards the hordes of Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos, ready to defend their home and their king. The link was soon surrounded by monsters, fighting them off with ease. Eva joined him and soon they took out many of the enemies.

"Fire the cannons--now! Blast those monsters off the plain!"

Link and Evangeline retreated a little bit to prevent being hit with a cannonball. The heavy balls rained from a wall, hitting Bokoblins and Moblins.

"Knights, keep the throng at bay while we reload the cannons!"

Link and Eva advanced, doing what they did best; defending their kingdom.

More monsters emerged for the gate, giving the soldiers and knights a numeral disadvantage.

"Shut the gate! Prevent their retreat!"

The heavy metal gate shut, trapping the monsters inside the surrounding area.

"We've got them now! FIRE!"

Cannons rained from above, wiping out hordes of monsters.

"Could this day get any worse?"

Link looked over and saw Bokoblins guts spilled out on her boots.

"Gross."

Suddenly, a large Moblin rammed through one of the gates.

"Woah! Come on, Link! Let's go destroy that Moblin!"

Link nodded firmly, following Eva to the large monster. They skillfully defeated the Moblin and the surrounding enemies, clearing the area.

"Great job! Let's use this momentum to take back the outposts."

"Link, let's split up. You take the first one, I'll take the next. I think the other soldiers got the third one. Does that sound okay?"

He made a sound that sounded like a yes.

Eva's POV

I nodded back and ran off to the next outpost, slashing my way through the Bokoblins. When I reached the outpost, I was met by a hoard of them. I tightened the grip on my sword. There had to be about 100 here, more than I have ever faced before. They finally noticed me and began charging at me, swinging their clubs wildly.

I raised my shield in preparation for a swing to reach me. I looked over my shield and saw all the Bokoblins crumbling to ash and poofing out of existence.

I looked around to see who could have taken out all of the Bokoblins, seeing nothing.

I sheathed my sword and rushed over to where Link ran to. When I joined up with Link again, all the outposts were destroyed and the monsters were retreating. Everyone was cheering in victory. In the aftermath, Link and I were sent to make sure none of the monsters were still lurking around.

We neared a stone pathway, hearing a voice cry out.

"Hey!"

We turned around to see a girl running away from a group of Bokoblins. She tripped and sent an object flying through the air. I reached to jump and caught it. The ground started to tremble and shake.

The Bokoblins looked at the ground and then turned their attention back to us. They began to charge at us only to be flung in the air by a tower erupting from the ground. We all stared up at the tower then I heard a sound from behind me.

I turned to look and there was a little guardian. After making sure the girl was ok (her name was Impa), we walked up to the mysterious tower.

Third Person POV

"I wonder why it suddenly came up from the ground."

Impa wondered out loud.

"It probably has something to do with this little guy,"

Eva said, pointing to the little guardian.

"Your probably right. I'll get Purah to send over a team to study it."

Link and Eva nodded the tiny guardian started to make a run for the castle Impa Eva and Link chased after it.

Link Eva and Impa chased the little guardian to the castle before losing it. Princess Zelda was walking along a path with two guards behind her.

"Your highness."

All three of them went to their knees and bowed their heads in respect.

"Please, that is not necessary."

The three of them raised and began a conversation.

"How did the battle go?"

"As well as expected, princess. We successfully pushed back the horde of monsters away from the castle."

"Very good. If we can keep the monsters away from the castle, then we have a better chance of defeating the Calamity."

Her face lit up as if she had remembered something.

"Oh! I just remembered something. My father has an official order for you all." Zelda took a scroll from under her royal robes and opened it.

"A message for Link, the Hylian knight, and Eva, the Sheikah fighter. You must guard the mysterious tower that has appeared. I am told it may be important. As for this time-hopping Guardian... Is it truly deserving of our trust? You must discern this beyond any doubt, with the aid of the researchers. May the Goddess Hylia watch over you, always. King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule. "

"So, I'm presuming that we need to go to Hateno then?"

"That would be correct. Purah and Robbie will have more information for us."

"Us?"

"Oh, yes. I convinced my father to let me journey with you all. I shall go change and we shall embark on our journey."

"Alright, princess. We'll be waiting here for you."

Princess Zelda left, going towards the castle.

"Did she use shall twice in the same sentence?"

Link nodded and Impa looked at them. "It's not her fault. It's just the way she was taught and raised."

"I would never trade my life for hers. She has it so rough."

Impa stated, looking a little sad.

"I agree. My life isn't perfect, but I could never do what she does."

Eva finished talking as Zelda and three other guards walked up to them.

"Alright! Let us embark on our adventure then!"

Link filed in with the other three guards as Impa and Eva stood on either side of Zelda and started walking away from the safety of the castle.
