Ch.2: The Long Road Ahead

The sun was shining overhead as the group continued their trek to the ancient tech lab.

"Where are we right now?"

Zelda asked. Eva pulled out her map and looked closely at it.

"We are now entering the Breach of Demise."

"Who named it this anyways? Sounds a bit ominous if you ask me."

The little Guardian ran around Zelda, trying to get her attention. They all stopped for a moment as Impa tried to reach out for it. It scattered away and continued to run around her.

"Why is it so...attached to me?" She bent down towards it. It beeped in joy as she smiled at it.

"Whatever could it be, little one?"

It continued to beep as Zelda stood back up, turning towards Impa.

"I suppose all we can do is wait for Robbie and the others at the lab to analyze it."

"Agreed, your highness." Link looked back as Zelda and the others talked about the little one.

A Guardian soon came to life and started aiming a laser at Zelda as Eva turned around.

"Link!"

She grabbed a shield and tossed it to him, catching it and deflecting the laser.

"A Guardian?! But why?!"

Link grabbed Zelda's hand and started running away along with the others. They were stopped by a hoard of monsters.

"And monsters too. Now of all time!"

Eva and Link readied for battle, clenching their swords and charging into battle. They slashed their way through the first hoard of Bokoblins before moving on to a Moblin.

It aimed for Link, swinging its' club at him. He dodged it quickly, retaliating with a swing to its leg. It kneeled, howling in pain. Eva quickly pulled some sheikah magic, teleporting above him and burying her sword into its head. It soon poofed away, returning to the calamity.

They heard the beeping of the little guardian, turning their heads to look at it. The big Guardian burst through the gates, looking to wreak havoc.

"Run!"

Everyone started running, the Guardian chasing after them.

"How did this even happen?!"

Eva yelled, jumping over some rocks.

"I don't know! I looked where the little guy was and saw something go into the Guardian!"

Link yelled back. They ran into the last gate, soon realizing that they were trapped. The little Guardian started beeping again, making everyone turn their attention toward it. Another Guardian came to life, this time aiming for the evil Guardian.

It shot a bright blue beam, knocking over the evil one.

"It gave us an opening! We should go activate the other Guardians!"

"Allow me to be of some assistance. Using the Sheikah Slate, I can defeat some of our foes!"

"Are you sure you can handle it, Princess? You've never had any real training before..."

Impa started.

"I'll figure it out! Don't worry about me!"

Zelda finished.

"Link, Eva go activate the other Guardians. Impa and I will defend this point while the Guardian is out of order."

They both nodded. Eva rushed down the path, taking out Bokoblin after Bokoblin until she reached the deactivated Guardian. The little Guardian walked up to it and let out a tune. The activated Guardian fired a laser at the rampaging one, knocking it down once more.
