"You got your shield?"
"Yep. And an extra in case it breaks."
"Alright. Aveil told us to meet him around here. There he is."
Link pointed out Aveil, who was waving at them.
"It's kinda cold out here."
"Yeah. We're up in the Gerudo Highlands, so it's chilly."
They caught up with Aveil, who had started a fire.
"So, we start up here, and then just go down?"
"Right! I have Sand-Seals that will bring us back up here."
"Okay. So who's going first?"
Everyone stayed quiet, looking at each other. Eva sighed, putting her hands on her hips.
"Guess I'm going first."
She reluctantly took out her shield, looking down the slope. She let out a quick breath before backing up. She started running to the cliff, jumping and putting her shield under her feet.
She landed on the snow, speeding down the slope. She let out a scream, feeling the rush and the wind going through her hair. She smiled, yelling again in joy. She looked beside her as Link came into view. He smiled at her and quickly sped past her.
Aveil came up behind her, jumping over her and landing in front of her. He looked back at her, smirking. She smirked back, speeding up and doing a spin, laughing. Aveil quickly looked around to find a way to outshine her. He saw a rock coming up on his right. He smiled, drifting toward it.
He increased his speed, using the rock as a ramp and flying in the air. Link and Eva looked up at him, noticing that he was going to hit his head.
"Aveil! Cover your head!"
"A clover on my head?!"
"No! Cover!"
It was too late. Aveil hit the ground, his feet giving out. He hit his head, banging it on a small rock. Eva and Link ran over to his body, stopping it from rolling down.
"Aveil!"
"Wake up!"
-----
Aveil stood up, his head was killing him. He turned back to let the others know he was okay but saw that they weren't there. He looked around finding himself standing back at the foot of the hill he just went down.
He paused and tried to think of why this place was significant to him. He looked around once more. This time behind him he saw that there was a massive statue of a Gerudo holding a massive blade.
He gazed at it longer, realizing that the face was his. The memory from the past showed itself.
Young Aveil stood at the foot of the Gerudo Highlands. He looked down at the letter he was carrying. A note from the King of Hyrule, ordering him to investigate the disappearance of Gerudo Merchants. He began his descent up the mountain, pushing through the snow.
The blizzard that swirled around him only got stronger once he reached the top. He pulled out his Shekiah Slate and began to survey the land, looking for any sign of the missing Merchants. He stopped, bringing his Shekiah Slate upon smoke raising from the adjacent peak.
He put his slate away and began running to the edge of the mountain. He jumped and began falling. He pulled out his paraglider and began to glide down to the other mountain. He landed in the fresh snow and saw that there were some giant footprints with some smaller ones in the snow.
