Link stood there, not saying a word. He was still trying to figure out what had happened. He turned to look at Sooga, who was now lying on the floor with a Yiga soldier lying on top of him. Link focusing on the now-conscious Zelda, felt a wave of relief wash over him.
"You...guys...good?" Aveil asked catching his breath.
"Yeah, all go.." Link began turning to face him "What happened to you!" he finished. Aveil was covered in cuts and scrapes an arrow poked from his back and he had a gash over his eye.
"After we split up, more Yiga soldiers showed up but not to worry I took care of them," Aveil said, tugging the arrow out.
"But you guys aren't looking so good yourself. Zelda has a sprained ankle while your leg is broken."
Link looked down at his leg which was swelling up.
"I got this," Aveil said, pulling out his Sheikah Slate and pressing on the screen, a bottle appearing in Links's hand.
"Drink that. It'll make you feel better." Aveil said before walking over to Zelda.
Link stared at the drink. The liquid was pink and glittering. He unplugged the cork and gulped it down. The effects were immediate he could feel his bones healing. After the feeling was gone, he tried standing up.
Pushing himself off the ground, he grabbed his sword and used it as a crutch. He wobbled over to Aveil and Zelda, who was drinking the same drink.
"What was that?" Link asked as the other two stood up.
"It's called fairy tonic," Aveil began, "It's a potion that was made with the help of fairies."
"So, you the great Gerudo Arbiter?" A voice behind them asked.
Sooga stood up shaking off the Yiga Soldier.
"Just one second," Aveil said picking Link and Zelda up. He walked to the nearest house and put them down gently.
"You guys stay here for a minute." He said, jumping back down.
"So, who are you?" Aveil asked, unsheathing his sword.
"My name is Sooga." The Yiga replied, picking up his blades from the ground. "You must be pretty strong. Being able to throw a 190 lb man is not an easy feat," he said
"I do what I can." Aveil shrugged. The two circled each other, sizing up their opponent.
"Well, you can't be that strong. You did fall to our earliest ancestors." Sooga stated. Aveil charged, his blade glowing a bright blue light.
Sooga brought up his swords blocking the attack. "What do you know about my past?!" Aveil yelled.
"I know a lot, how you fell in battle, about that sword of yours, even about your relationship with the princess of old." He said smirking underneath his mask.
The air around the two began to heat up. The two swung their swords, taking turns between attacking and blocking.
Don't let him get in your head. He told himself Aveil began to swing his sword before dropping to the ground as Soogas sword narrowly missed him.
The two backed up from each other, both panting. "You are a worthy opponent," Sooga said, resting his blade on his shoulder.
"You're not so bad yourself," Aveil replied.
"However, you're not fighting at your full strength. So..." Sooga trailed off. "I'll tell you this...The princess you loved so much was killed by our forefathers."
This grabbed everyone's attention. "A couple of years after you fell, our forefathers snuck something into her food and..well" He imitated a knife running over his throat.
Aveil's eyes widened, and his heart began beating twice as fast. He could feel his blood boiling. Aveil you can't believe that, you have to stay strong. The voice said in his head. The air grew hotter around them
"So, what do you say to that?" Sooga asked, pointing with the blade of one of his Wind Cleavers.
Aveil charged at Sooga, slashing and thrusting his sword wildly.
Sooga blocked the attack. "So this is the best you can do?"
"Shut up!" Aveil yelled, attacking more furiously. "But how am I supposed to tell you more about the princess of the past?" Sooga asked mockingly.
"Shut the hell up, bastard!" Aveil shouted. "You don't get to talk about her!" He swung his sword down, missing Sooga.
Sooga swung his fist, clocking Aveil in the face and causing him to stumble back. Sooga charged, punching Aveil in the gut. Aveil fell on his back, still in a daze from the first punch.
A horn roared, signaling the Yiga Clan's retreat. "I wish I could stay and beat you up some more, but that's my cue," Sooga said before turning to Link and Zelda. "This isn't over. Next time, I will finish the job." He then vanished in a cloud of smoke.
Aveil stood up with a hand over his gut.
"Damn it!" He yelled, picking up his sword and sheathing it. He walked over to the other two."You good, Aveil?" Link asked."Yeah, I should be. It's probably gonna bruise, but other than that it's fine." He replied.
"I meant mentally. He said some pretty messed up things." Link commented.
Aveil's face soured. "I just need to be alone for a while." He said, pushing past them. "Let's go report this to the king." He said, continuing to the castle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"You didn't kill her!" Astor yelled, slamming his fists on the table. He looked at the two Yigas in front of him. "I was interrupted by that Gerudo you were interested in," Sooga said in a stern voice.
"How did he fair in combat?" Astor asked, lowering his voice.
"He's strong, I'll give him that. But he lets his anger get to him." Sooga replied.
"Are you sure he's the real deal, because when I fought him his sword was blue, not red?" Sooga asked."Well, did those lies I gave you work?" Astor asked.
"Well they did, but he's not like he is in the books we have. They depict him as a heartless monster, not a hero." Kohga replied.
"The books you have are written from a different perspective, but we'll talk about that later. Do we have enough troops for the next part of the plan?" Astor asked.
"We should, but most of them are healing from the last fight."
"Fine. I'll give them a week to get better. Then, we go to Korok Forest."
"If you don't mind me asking, what's in the forest?" Kohga asked.
Astor stared into the Yiga's mask. "The one thing we can't let them find. The Sword that Seals the Darkness."
