This was a request I got from Quotev by BlackRose .
(Gomez's POV)
Every day without her I died, and not in a good way. Morticia was my everything, my querida. Even though she has been missing for five years now, I still hold onto the hope that she is still alive and well and will one day return to us. I vowed never to forget her, but these days I struggle to remember the feeling of her in my arms or the taste of her skin as I kissed her hand. I cannot go on like this, losing her more each day.
(Author POV)
Moving was never easy, especially for someone like you. You stuck out like a sore thumb with you in black velvets and lace, and the rest of the town in sunny florals and pastel colours. But it wasn't just that, you could barely keep up a conversation with your new neighbours, they just found you too odd and disturbing, so why bother. You felt really lonely. You decided to go on a walk to clear your head.
(Gomez's POV)
I was out in the cemetery, when I heard something. Not one of the usual bump in the night sounds, either. I turned in the direction of the sound and saw her.
(Author POV)
You stumbled upon a beautiful cemetery and felt more at home than any other time since you moved. You were about to walk into the cemetery when you saw a man. He was very handsome and sharply dressed but what really struck you was the way he looked at you, like the rest of the world had fallen away. He approached you. He quickly mumbled out "oh, Tish" before taking you in his arms and kissing you. You were shocked but could not deny that he was the only person in the neighbourhood that you wanted to spend time with. Once he had broken the long kiss, he took your hand. "As much as I would like to keep you all to myself, I think the rest of the family should find out the joyous news of your arrival."
Sure enough, you were led into a large and extravagant mansion. You felt like you really must have been meeting the whole family as you were very much outnumbered. None of them were as excited as the man who brought you here, though. A little girl with a stony expression piped up. "It's not her. Don't even bother wasting our time." The man seemed almost speechless for a moment. "Now, Wednesday, there's no need to be like that. I know it's been tough without your mother, but she has now returned to us, so celebrate with me." You now understood what he was saying, he was convinced that you were his missing wife. You felt awful, but knew you had to tell the truth. "I'm so sorry, but I think there must be some sort of mistake. My name is (Y/N)." A bald man stepped forward.
"Maybe Wednesday was right, brother. Maybe this woman is telling the truth. You haven't been completely right in the head recently, Gomez. I just don't want to see you get your hopes up for no reason." Gomez gave a breathless, nervous chuckle. "Look at her! She is Morticia. Fester, when you came back from the Bermuda Triangle I never doubted it was really you, even when you yourself thought you were a different person. Five years ago, she sought out the dark forces to join their hellish crusade, who knows what has happened in that time? All we have to do is stick with it, and help her to remember who she really is."
You had been in the eerie house for a week and nothing was 'coming back' to you as the family expected it might have. You were walking through the halls, trying to find anything familiar when you bumped into Wednesday. She had a crossbow and pointed it at you. You began to get nervous, you knew that she resented you. "Wednesday, could you put that down?" She showed little reaction to what you had said and actually tightened her finger on the trigger. "What do we say?" You were baffled by her question and growing more scared for your life by the second. "What?"
"An inside joke of the family. My real mother would know the answer. What do we say?" You gave a glance around and saw that you were indeed alone before venturing an answer. "Please?"
"Wrong!" The word rang in your head as the arrow skimmed the side of your head. That was when Gomez ran into the room and started to shout at Wednesday. You promptly ran out of the house, not being able to take it anymore.
You made your way out of the grounds, feeling saddened that you had to leave such a place that made you feel more normal. You heard footsteps and saw Gomez running up to you. He led you to a nearby bench. His voice was soft and his eyes full of emotion as he spoke to you. "Maybe you're not my wife after all, I've lost the ability to tell the difference I think. I just know that when she disappeared I felt a piece of myself missing and became very lost. Then, when I saw you for the first time, you awakened something in me, a feeling I had only ever felt for Morticia. I have already lost so much and I don't think I have the strength to see you go as well." You felt your heart swell at his words. "I have feelings for you too. But maybe we can take things a bit slower to start with, see how things go with just the two of us rather than the whole Addams family." His eyes lit up and he took your hand in his. "I can do that."
