You knew Frank William Abagnale Jr. ever since you were children, you were a friend of the family. You basically never left each other's sides. You had happy memories of dancing with him in his parents' living room, or just talking together. Your most prominent memory of him was about a year ago, you were both sixteen and he told you he loved you.
Currently, Frank's parents were getting a divorce. You had looked everywhere to find him, with no luck. You picked up your phone and called just in case he had made it back home. It rang for ages before you gave up and decided to leave a message "Hey Frank, it's me (Y/N). Listen, I heard what happened and that's a tough thing to go through alone. I'm here for you, you just say the word. Okay, bye." You tried to sound cheerful on the phone, but you were getting really worried about him.
Weeks passed and Frank hadn't come home yet. You visited his father's house every day in hopes of seeing him. He let you read the letters he received from Frank. You heard his voice as you read them, making you miss him more, but it was nice to know how he was.
The weeks turned into months, but you still visited Frank's father. There was a knock at the door, and Mr Abagnale told you to get it. It was the police. Mr Abagnale was sure that they were there for him, but they wanted to talk about Frank. "Could we have some privacy, Mr Abagnale?"
"No, anything you have to say, you can say in front of (Y/N). She's a friend."
Forgery. Impersonation. Bank robbery. It had never even crossed your mind. Even though he had told you about the time that people thought he was a substitute teacher, you thought it was all for fun. Maybe that's all this was to him. Fun.
