The 31st of October. All Hallow's Eve, and the day that you died.
It was a wonderfully cold night, with the moon shining brightly, so you decided to take a walk to enjoy it. The strange winds calmed you, but it made others crazy. It made some people violent and bloodthirsty.
You were all alone until a group of costumed men approached you. You turned around and walked briskly, trying not to let your fear show. "Hey, Lady! Don't ya just love Halloween?" You could hear them shouting at you, but you ignored it, praying that you would get home safely and quickly.
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see the glint of a blade. You started running, but soon you were unable to move. You smelled blood and heard screaming. It was your blood and your screaming.

(Lestat's POV)

I heard the screams and became curious. The source of the ghastly noise was a young woman, tossed aside, dying in a puddle of her own blood. I found myself feeling sorry for the beautiful creature. Normally I would give people a choice before I turn them, but her heart was slowing so quickly. I gave her the blood from my wrist.

(Author's POV)

You woke with the same moon on your face, but it all felt so different. Your wounds had healed and the blood on your clothes was completely dry. Then you saw him. You shakily sat up, coming face to face with this stranger. Had he been the one to injure you? No, somehow you trusted him. "I just couldn't leave you alone." He said to you. There was a glint in his eyes as he smiled, revealing to you his fangs. He offered to help you to your feet. With the rest of eternity ahead of you, you took his hand and gave him the rest of your life.

The 31st of October. All Hallow's Eve, the day you died and the day you were reborn.
