i threw my phone on the bed and decided that it was finally time to wake up. i had been awake for like an hour, but it took a while for me to physically get out of bed.
i stood up and found shawn fast asleep on his bed, the covers completely off his body. he looked so peaceful—and not to mention attractive—and i wanted to see him like that forever. so i grabbed my phone and took a picture. what? nobody was gonna find it.
i changed into my gym clothes and ran downstairs to the hotel fitness center. i needed to look my absolute best for the show today. i swung open the door and took my place on a treadmill, when i heard the door open and close behind me.
"hey halley," gigi hadid smiled as she stepped onto the treadmill beside me. i absolutely adored her. "early morning exerciser too?"
"yup," i chuckled dryly, "i'll feel better about myself later if i work out now."
"same, i'm so excited," she said, "what room are you in? we should eat a light breakfast together."
"uh, room 1104! but i gotta warn you...i have a messy roommate so we might wanna meet in yours..." i breathed heavily as my pace increased.
"you're not with my sister, right?" gigi chuckled sarcastically.
"no, no...i'm with shawn," i replied, "don't know how that happened."
"shawn mendes? oh my gosh i love that guy," she grinned, "he's the nicest person ever."
"yeah, yeah he is."
after about an hour of working out and making small talk with gigi, i took the elevator back upstairs to the room. i tapped my key card and opened the door to reveal shawn sitting up in the bed on the phone.
"no, she hasn't heard it yet...no i haven't told her!" he spoke into the phone before he saw me walk in. "aaliyah...i gotta go, tell mom i'll facetime her later." he said and hung up.
"good morning to you too, rockstar," i joked and smiled as i called him by his old nickname.
"morning," he snapped cutely and ran his hands through his hair. "did you already work out?"
"sure did," i smiled, "now i'm gonna shower...we gotta leave in two hours."
he nodded and i walked into the bathroom to shower and get kind of ready to leave for the venue. i knew we were getting hair and makeup done there.
a few hours later, i was now standing backstage as i waited for shawn's section of the show to begin. i had already done my first walk, and i was also in the finale of the show.
i looked down the hall and saw him grab his guitar and get pushed by someone down towards me and the stage. "you're gonna do great, mendes!" i tapped him on the back as he passed me.
i moved to the tv and found sadie newman waiting too. "hellooo, ready to watch?" i smiled as i approached her.
"oh yeah...'lost in japan' is my song," she chuckled and looked back at the tv. it was actually shawn and i's song.
i heard the familiar melody begin and the tv panned to shawn on the stage. he's so pretty.
the walk started and i basically danced and grinned at the tv for four minutes straight. i had forgotten how much of a good performer shawn was. he jammed out on the side of the stage while also watching and helping the girls as they showed off their looks.
i absolutely adored his stage presence. i'm pretty sure i saw a behind the scenes camera person capture sadie and i rocking out and me beaming with pride—and maybe attraction—at him.
