It didn't take me long to realize that I was being watched. Werewolf instincts were amazing. The only problem was that I felt both bad and good intentions. It was nerve wracking.

I knew that I was only an hour or two away from Jaxon's pack, which was a good thing because if I really needed to, I could sprint my way back.

I heard a twig snap, causing my wolf to jump and turn towards that direction. The rancid smell of rogues filled my nostrils and I felt my wolf began to panick. I could feel her flight or fight instincts coming in.

I growled, giving out a warning to the rogues upon me. I could count fourteen different smells, which meant that my wolf and I would have to have the fight of our life right now. I felt my wolf lower her head to become more defensive of our neck.

I growled again, signaling that I was ready to fight, then heard the jumps of all fourteen wolves around me. The only problem was that I didn't expect one to be made of a big stature and radiate Alpha energy. My wolf unconsciously leaned back as we saw our male jump in front of us, protecting his mate. I knew that Kano's wolf had to be in control of him, because Kano's human form didn't really seem to like us right now.

Kano growled, making the rogues around us halt their advances. It made me remember what Griffin had said, that rogue wolves didn't like to be around Alpha males.

My thoughts were halted when three jumped towards Kano, latching their claws onto his neck. I howled quickly, then jumped into action, taking one of the rogues away from him and flinging him towards a tree.

Kano growled, and I felt the earth around me shake awake. The harsh whimpering of rogues seemed to be heard from all around me. I turned around to see Kano's wolf still surrounded by rogues, causing my wolf to work fast.

I jumped onto the back of a rogue, snatching his neck by my teeth and bringing him to the ground. He was flung into a tree quickly. I heard Kano get tangled up in his own fight, so I took the remaining rogues to the best of my ability, despite my still hurt leg.

All of that stopped when I smelt more oncoming wolves in the masses. The amount of rogues that I had smelled was making my head began to hurt. I felt that Kano and I would surely be dead in just a few moments.

Kano knocked into my side, making me tumble onto the ground. When I looked up to growl at him, I could see just how injured he was. He had a bite mark on his neck, and claw marks littering his front and hind legs. A piece of flesh from his side seemed to be missing and oozing out blood. While this wouldn't kill him, it would sure make him lose any and all energy he could muster.

Kano whimpered towards me, licking my head once, then setting himself in front of me in a protective stance. I looked up to see what he was protecting me from and spotted what seemed to be about thirty rogues still standing strong.

Then they all pounced.

Kano kept his body in front of me, throwing as much rogues as he could away from reaching me. I did my best to try and snag one or two, but Kano's defense was remarkable. It was remarkable until a rogue was able to snatch his ear off, and another one was able to nip his back leg. He howled in pain but still fought.

I jumped over him, transforming mid air into my human form and snagging my claws out of my fingers. My human form was always my best bet towards winning a fight.

I grabbed two rogues by their necks, throwing them to the closest tree. I tried to lung towards another one, but was snagged by my calves. I suddenly felt my calf explode in pain, and I screamed and turned around. A wolf had just bit all my calf muscle away.

Kano was there in an instant despite his hinderance of a leg. He ran into the rogue full on, taking him off of me. I knew that I would not be a good helper from now on due to me strangled right calf. I still had my arms though.
