I felt my senses heighten as I walked through the male dormitories. It was kind of scary, but I knew that the Males knew I could hold my own, so they wouldn't really mess with me. It was either here or the library, and after getting a crook in my neck from sleeping on the library floor the first time, I knew a bed would fair much better.
Men gave me strange looks, staring me down as I walked through the hallway. I took the notecard which had the room number and followed the numbered doors further down.
"Hey." I looked up from the notecard and saw a warm smile come from a guy. He was tall, like most guys in this school, and he had shaggy blonde hair. Cute dimples marked his face as he smiled, and his dark brown eyes were eye catching. He seemed friendly, so I responded to him.
"Hey?"
"Are you staying on this side of the Academy for a while. Amory? Right? I'm Jaxon from River Moon pack." I hadn't heard of that pack before. I nodded at his previous question.
"It's only for a little while, well basically until I get my girl drama fixed." I smiled back at him as we walked.
"Girl drama? Well, I can help you set up. I know it could be uncomfortable being the only female on this side of the Academy." I chuckled.
"I'm okay, I only have this fur blanket anyway." I lifted the beat skinned blanket up for him to see. I didn't want to go back to my dorm to get any of my other things since I didn't want to see Bali. Only the moon goddess knows that big cat fight that would occur if I was in the same room as her again.
He shrugged at me as I found my room and took the key out of my pocket to open the door.
"If you need anything just let me know. I've seen you on the field so I doubt you need... any help." His eyes moved slightly down my body. It looked like it was more from curiosity then lust.
"She doesn't need your help." Woah. There was that sexy monster of a Mate that I was hoping to rile up. I never knew that he would fall easily to Cyrene and Griffin's scheme. Well, the scheme was kind of mine, but not really. It just all worked in my favor.
The only problem was that I didn't know how to deal with him since the confirmation of him being my mate. My shoulder's tensed as I looked past the blonde and saw Kano. His eyebrows were slanted in, indicating signs of anger.
Jaxon put his hands up, walking away quickly, "My bad, my bad." It was quite comical, but I didn't laugh. When Jaxon was gone the only person left was Kano. I rolled my eyes at him and walked into my door.
I didn't expect him to follow me.
"Yes?" I asked him as I settled my blanket on the very small mattress. The room had two beds and two desk, like most dorms. The window gave little light due to the fading sky.
"Why are you over here?" He asked. His form stayed settled on the door, keeping the room open. I questioned his intentions in my head.
"To stay away from your crazy sister. You know, I don't know why you keep bothering me. You did say that we were mere aquantinces? Am I correct?" I sat my butt down on the bed, laid down, and pulled the blanket over my body.
"Hm." He mumbled.
"'Hm', what?" I just wanted to cuddle myself to sleep.
"You're doing this to spite me." He said it like it was an observation. "You're not going to get anything out of this. I really don't care about the fact that you're over here. You could die for all I cared." His words made a small pang shuffle through my chest, but I ignored it because his actions stated differently.
