I felt like my jaw dropped. My dad was just going to accept them? Just like that? This all felt so weird. "Amory," My dad's gaze shifted towards me and he started walking away. "Come on, let's walk back to the pack house with the rest of our guest." I quickly sped up my walk to match my dad's strides. Aries, my brother, was next to me as well.
He smiled at me as I looked at him. I noticed that he had gotten taller, just slightly though. He was already a tall male thanks to my Father's genes. I wanted to give him a hug, but I didn't think now was the appropriate time.
Aries didn't seem to care though, because he stopped walking with my dad and gave me a hug anyway. It came out of no where, but it was definietly reciprocated. He spoke first, "Glad to see you're alright."
"Glad to see your doing good too, Aries." I said, squeezing him briefly then letting him go. We sped up our walk to catch back up with our Father.
So... Aries began in my head. I sighed because I just knew he was going to start asking a bunch of questions. Is there a reason you came here with a full grown Alpha male?
I turned around to glance at Kano briefly. He looked up at me before I turned back around quickly.
Way to make it not obvious that we're talking about him. Right in front of his face, sis. Aries cackled.
Shut up. This feels weird coming back home. And with an Alpha male that you both don't know.
How long have you known him? He asked.
Since the beginning of the academy year.
And why is there a mark on his neck? Was he already mated? He does smell like you but there's no mark on your's.
Because I marked his neck but he hasn't marked mine. I admitted.
Interesting. Aries said quietly.
How's the pack been? I suddenly asked out of the blue, hoping to change the subject. It worked.
Fine. The Alpha King keeps asking for warrior's, but dad doesn't want to send him any. It's caused tension to rise between our Allies and the Alpha King's army. I nodded my head.
Dad had never sent warriors to the Alpha King. He had always told me it was because we have our own for a reason. The Alpha King's pack was supposed to be the largest, so I could understand why dad didn't believe in offering them much help.
So why are you back anyway? I thought you leaving was your final way out of here. I could sense the sadness from his tone. I wasn't ever planning to come back home to be honest. But I knew I had to once I questioned the point of the war. Yeah, rogues were bad. But why were there so many rogues agains the packs right now?
I wanted to use the library we have for knowledge on the king. I think there's something fishy with the Rogue war.
Noted.
I pulled back from the mind link as we neared the pack house. It was lit up, and I knew that mom had to be inside. I didn't want to deal with both her and my Father at the same time.
"Aries." My father spoke up. We were still walking in a group together.
"Yes sir."
"Go show Bali and Hati to their rooms." Aries nodded and led Hati and Bali ahead of us and inside the pack house. This left Kano, my Father, and I outside. I felt the awkwardness hit the air as my dad just stared at the two of us.
I glanced at Kano, hoping he wasn't going to crack under the pressure.
"We're going to go to my office so I can talk to you two privately." Father started to lead the way again, bringing us into the pack house and up to his office. Everything seemed as I remembered, and I could smell the scent of everyone who was supposed to be here. The only scent I couldn't smell was my mom. Her scent was absent, which was strange.
When we finally got to my dad's office, he opened the door and let us inside. It was just as spacious as I remembered. There were paintings of his children, my brother and I, littering the walls. None of my mother though. It seemed he had taken all of those down. It made me even more confused.
