I looked around the room, glancing at the small paintings and large desk that centered it. Kano's father sat down into chair across from us, his large form now smaller and a small smirk making its way on his face. He winked one of his eyes. I shuffled behind Kano a bit more and gladly took whatever protection he had to offer.

Kano's dad seemed to be observing me without even trying to be discrete. "Looks like the two lovebirds made their way back. Mmh." He nodded towards me.

"Dad, stop trying to get under her skin." Kano sighed and mumbled, walking closer to the desk that the man was sitting at.

"I didn't say you can bring her into the territory. She isn't marked." He took a breath then looked over to Kano. His eyes widened, "but you seem to be bitten?"

"We got into a fight a few days ago, she had to mark me to save us both." Kano said simply. He rubbed his neck then looked at his Father. "Anyway, we need to talk, it's an emergency."

"Well you act like you're not in my office already son. Isn't that right Amory. Y'know, you don't need to be hiding behind Kano, I don't bite." His father spoke. I took a small step from behind Kano's figure and looked the man straight in the face. "Goddess knew you were going to be mates anyway. Might as well get the mating over with and stop ignoring the bond."

"I'm pretty confident that your son and I aren't going to mate." I told Alpha Killian.

Kano's chest seemed to shake a bit which shut my ass right up. The male crossed his arms then looked at his father expectantly. "Cyrene and Griffen were killed by the Alpha Prince." He stated out flatly, making my chest hurt again at the thought. I brought my finger to my mouth and began to chow down on my fingernail. My body was filled with anxiousness.

Alpha Killian seemed taken back. His smirk had cleared from his face, and his eyes seemed to darken a bit. "What?"

"He ripped out their baby's heart too. The whole bloodline is dead now." Kano said. Well technically they have one more child, but I couldn't say that right now. My heart dropped at the memory. "I think our pack might be next. There was no way that Griffin and Cyrene's bond should have been exposed unless someone finally took notice of it. It means that the Alpha Prince could be here to kill you and I any day, he might even go for Amory while he's at it." Kano turned around to me, pushing his hand out to mine and grabbing it. He gently pulled my hand, bringing me closer to the desk. It was an extremely weird, intimate gesture that made my heart flutter.

Alpha Killian spoke up, his voice serious. "I doubt that they would come kill us. We're two strong Alpha males, one with a mate, they probably had a hard time trying to kill Griffen."

"I'm not chancing it. If they killed Amory, I would never forgive myself." He glanced over to me and I looked away. This feeling was... strange. Just two weeks ago Kano had wanted nothing to do with me, but now, he's acting like I'm important to him? "I want to get a large group of wolves to go attack them. Because I think now would be the perfect time considering that there's a rogue war going on right now."

"We wouldn't have enough wolves to go attack the Prince, and even if we did, we wouldn't last long at all. Most of my wolves are off fighting on the front lines of the rogue war. And we have an alliance with the Alpha King. There's a reason why they are in charge you know?" His father looked between us. Kano was still holding my hand, his grip becoming a bit tighter.

Kano seemed like he was itching to explode. "Well we can't just sit here and do nothing?! Do you know how stupid this is? I'm not going to wait here to get caught by the Alpha King and Prince. I'm not going to have our whole bloodline dead due to your stupidity." Kano rose his voice.
