"Bali, open the door!" I heard a voice call out from the other side of the door. I grabbed my history book full of battle tactics and set it to the side. Bali got up, quickly scurrying over to the door and opening it without checking who was on the other side.
I immidietly smelt him. What was he doing here? Was he Bali's mate or something. She didn't have a mate mark. Not like I cared to look or anything.
His large frame walked into the room, not even sparing me a glance as he looked around. It took him a few seconds to spot me, and when he did, a look of confusion set over his face. I glared at him for a few seconds, then looked away when it became too much.
"What is a delinquent like you doing here?" I asked with a smirk, scooting off from the bed.
"I'm here to see my sister. And heads up, the Headmaster's mate wants to see you. Something about a punishment." He smiled sweetly at me, making my face heat up. Wait. Bali and Kano were siblings? They looked nothing a like. Kano had curly, black hair and hazel eyes, while Bali had pin straight blonde hair and blue eyes. My knowsy ass wanted to know how in the world that was possible.
"Why are you looking at us like we're aliens?" Bali's eyes were pointed in annoyance.
"Sorry. Spaced out. I'm going to head to the Headmaster's quarters." I jumped from my bed and started walking to the door.
"Wait." Kano spoke up, causing me to turn around. His hand went behind his neck. "I'll take you to their quarters. Don't want you to get lost on the way there." I heard Bali click her tongue.
"I think I can find it myself." I told him. I didn't want Bali hating me even more then she already did. It was aggravating.
"Nonsense. I'll help you." He followed after me as I walked out of the door. Nervousness filled my insides as I started to walk down the hallway. I heard his steps get closer to me from behind until he was walking next to me, side by side.
"I thought you were supposed to hang out with your sister." I said, striking up a conversation. He didn't respond, and instead it became quiet between us as we walked to the chief's quarters.
"So um... Thank you for stepping in between my fight, even if I didn't need it." I fumbled with my shirt as I waited for a response.
"I know you didn't need it. I did my research. Your father is Alpha Cole, known for his intense training and fighting style." I hated being reminded of my Father. "But you should also know that defeating an Alpha male in wolf form is virtually impossible if you're not an Alpha male yourself."
"What?" I asked him.
"Alpha Cole and Alpha males. You know the-."
"I know who Alpha Cole and an Alpha male is, idiot. I was asking how you know he's my Father."
"It's called reading. You know. Where you read letters from a book and put it together in your head." He tried to act all smart with me, but I wasn't going to let it fly.
"I read." I told him. Did he not remember me reading in the library?
"Yeah. What?" He looked like a know it all.
"Fighting styles." I gave him a short answer. I didn't want him to know that I read romance books.
"Of course you do. Know it all." He didn't even make sense.
"So first I don't read. Then I'm somehow a know it all? You're the one sounding like a know it all. Know it all." I sounded so stupid. His shoulder brushed past me, giving me those small, familiar tingles again. "Stop doing that!"
