I wake up on the floor. I get up and see that Johnny is all sprawled out on the bed. He must have pushed me off of it. I find a large bruise on my hip. I decide to not tell Johnny cause it'll make him feel bad.
I'm surprised to see that I am the first one in the family awake. The sun hasn't even risen yet. I decide to take advantage of the rare silence in the house. I make a cup of hot chocolate and sit in the armchair. I didn't turn any lights on because I actually like the dark. So I sit there alone for the next hour drinking hot chocolate in the dark and drowning in my sorrows.
At around six o'clock Darry wakes up. He jumped when he turned the corner and saw me sitting there.
"Ah! Oh hi, Lavender. I wasn't expecting for you to be awake and sitting right there." He says and I give a fake laugh. "Why is it so dark in here?".
"I don't like the light," I answer and he blinds me by opening up the curtains and turning on the lamp.
"Are you okay? I've noticed that you've been acting real strange the past several months. It's like you're hiding something." Darry asks, concerned.
"I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes"
"Okay... I'm gonna go make some breakfast. Any requests?"
"Mom's chocolate chip pancakes!!!!"
"Sounds good to me."
