Chapter 43: Preparations

~time skip to Friday after school~

I meet Cherry in her car in the school parking lot. We're gonna pick my dress up at my house, then go to her house.

When we get to my house I go in, grab my dress, and then leave.

On the car ride there, we go over our plan to set up Johnny and Ponyboy. We've already discussed it tons of times with Johnny, Marcia, and Two-Bit, but we just want to be sure.

The Plan:

At 8pm, an hour into the dance, I'll fake a panic attack. I get them quite often in social situations so it won't look unusual. Cherry will take me to the girl's bathroom so I can "calm down", leaving Johnny and Ponyboy alone. After about ten minutes, Johnny will suggest to Ponyboy that they go out to the parking lot and look at the stars. There, Johnny will ask Ponyboy to be his boyfriend. Two will be watching from his car with Marcia. Marcia will come to get me and Cherry once the mission is complete.

At Cherry's house, we all have some snacks and do our homework first. It's 3pm and we don't have to be at the dance until 6. All three of us have gotta be there early to help set up because we're in the student council. The guys are meeting us at the dance when it starts at 7pm.

After we finish our homework, we start getting ready for the dance. Marcia does everyone's nails, I do hair, and Cherry does makeup.

Marcia's dress is white with a green bow. Her hair is curled and she has silver nail polish on.

I'm wearing my green dress paired with white converse. I put my hair in a French braid. Cherry insisted on me wearing red lipstick, so I did.

Cherry looks absolutely beautiful. She has a very poofy red dress that compliments her hair very nicely. Matching high heels are on her feet. I tied her hair back with a red bow. I've never seen a more beautiful girl than Cherry Valance.

Cherry's parents take some pictures of us before we leave, and then the three of us smush into Cherry's stingray.
