Chapter 24: Game Plan

I wake up with Johnny still snuggled right up close to me. I shake him awake. Being the light sleeper that he is, his eyes shoot open.

"Morning Lav." He mumbles, quickly moving away from me. "Why are you in my bed? It's gonna look like we are dating!" He states nervously.

"Johnny, we are fake dating, remember?"

"Oh yeah..." He facepalms. "We need to figure out a plan for that."

"Ok..." I pause to think of a plan. "So we got together that day we skipped school. I asked you and initiated the first kiss. Um... we've been dating ever since and I wanted to keep it a secret because I was afraid my brothers wouldn't approve. We've never had sex and don't plan on it any time soon. Uh, anything else?" I ask.

"I guess we'll have to go to that dance together, too." He says, "And all that other couple bullshit like dates and kissing and intense eye contact and whatnot.".

"Yeah." I agree, "Wait... Kissing?"

"As you said, gotta make this shit look believable."

"But Johnny..."

"Lavender, we're gonna have to kiss. Nobody is gonna believe that we're dating unless we kiss. I'm not super into the idea of kissing you either. One, you're a girl. And two, you're like my sister. But we're just gonna have to deal with it for now."

"Johnny, you didn't let me finish. You see, I've never kissed anybody before and I... I was sorta hoping it would be with my first girlfriend." I admit.

"Lav, I've never kissed anybody either. We just won't count it. Okay?"

"Okay. But how long do you think we'll have to keep this up?" I ask him.

"Well, it is December 6th. So at least till Valentine's Day. But we'll have to see where it goes."

"Sounds good. And about dates, how about we go to the movies tonight."

"Alright." He nods his head.
