"Hey Cherry! How have you been?" I hear Sodapop exclaim from the other room. I grab my stuff and head out to the living room to meet Cherry. She looks so pretty. She's wearing her signature blue sweater and plaid skirt. "Lavender, what did I say about stealing my flannels?"

"But, Soda, I look cute in them!" I whine.

"You do look cute in flannels, Lav," Cherry says and it is the best thing I have ever heard in my life.

I say goodbye to Sodapop, then Cherry and I walk out to her car. Then my worry starts to set in.

What if she just feels bad for me? I technically don't have any friends that are girls. What if Pony told her to invite me here? What if she's just trying to impress her boyfriend? Boyfriend. I wish she didn't have one. I wish she liked girls.

"Hey, you alright?" Cherry asks, concerned.

"Yeah, just a little hungry, that's all," I say.

"Oh, dinner isn't for a while. I'll stop and get you something to eat."

"No, it's fine. I don't want you to spend money on me."

"I really don't mind spending money on pretty girls," Cherry admits and I get butterflies in my stomach. Cherry, that was kinda gay.

"Alright then." We stop at McDonald's and get some fries and milkshakes. "Thanks, Cherry."

~time skip to Cherry's house~

By the time Cherry and I get to her house, it's a little after five. Marcia is waiting for us in the driveway. We were supposed to be here ten minutes ago.

"Where were you guys?" She asks.

"Lav was hungry so we stopped to get food," Cherry says as she puts an arm around me. My heart gives a flutter.

"Oh, okay." Marcia shrugs. Cherry gets her house keys out of her purse and Marcia walks over to me and whispers in my ear. "I honestly think she's trying to flirt with you.".

"I don't know..." I say quietly and then Marcia and I follow Cherry into her house. It's absolutely beautiful!! She lives in a fucking mansion!!! I suddenly remember that Cherry was in my shitty little house not too long ago and I become embarrassed about my social class.

"Cherry, your house is beautiful! It's so big!" I say.

"It gets lonely sometimes, though. My parents are rarely home. And since my older brother, Victor, went off to college it's been really quiet."

Without hesitation, I blurt out "Well at least you have parents". And just like that, all eyes are on me.

"I'm sorry Lavender." Says Cherry and she comes over and gives me a hug. "But I would kill to live in your house. Sure it's not fancy or anything, but it's lively. There's always something interesting going on over there."

"Yeah, with seven boys I guess it's never dull." I laugh.
