I set the groceries on the table and went to my room to finally relax, when all of a sudden I heard this grading, terrifying ass sound. I accidentally jumped at the sudden noise and screeched. Then I heard a familiar voice cursing loudly and a bang against the table, shaking the energy-drink riddled desk. "Y/N! What did I say about staying up all night while I'm out?!" I said in a frustrated tone. "Sorry sorry, but I was so close to beating this level..." I saw y/n's figure shrink down guiltily and sigh.
I gave in and hugged them from behind. "y/n darling, you know how I feel about you staying up late. You need to sleep." I said, my voice muffled by the crook of their neck. "But plum, I can't sleep without you, and you always go out at night..." They were sad, and held onto my arm. I felt so bad but they knew I couldn't go out in the daytime because it'd be ten times harder to do anything without getting bombarded by people who hated me. I just held onto them tighter and teleported us to the shadow realm.
"What are we doing here? They said and held on tighter, scared that they'll get lost in the void. But chuckled and stood, still holding their hand, and led them to a secret place. "Why'd we stop?" still clutching onto my hand, I whipped my tail around and purple fireflies came out of the void's ground, enchanting y/n. I looked at them as they came out from behind me and stared at the beautiful insects. I kissed their cheek lovingly and said, "I found these not too long ago, and I don't know what to call them, maybe you could help me?"
They looked at me with stars in their eyes and said, "star shadows. Because they're bright like the stars yet are in the shadow realm." "That's beautiful, y/n." and we melted back into our room, on the bed. "Feeling better, my little gamer kitty?" I said mockingly, earning a lugh and some playful punches from them. As the laughter from both of us died down, y/n fell slowly asleep leaning on me. I sighed at their peaceful expression and tucked them in, crawling under the covers with them. And I fell asleep, fingers intertwined with theirs.
