Nezha x GN! Child! Reader

"I'll get you Wukong!! You can count on that!" Nezha yelled, his castle half-way destroyed. But he turned his attention on something else, it sounded hitched and uneven. He readied his staff, slowly approaching debris and tearing it off the way, ready to strike if attacked. But his eyes widened at... a child? "What are you doing here!? How'd you even get in?!" he shouted slightly, but the kid kept on crying, curling into a ball and he dropped his arms, sighing and his gaze softened. He kneeled down to them and spoke in a soft manner, "I'm sorry for yelling at you, what's your name?" they responded through sobs "y-... y/n." he smiled.

"Well, y/n, you're safe now, okay? Do you know where your parents are?" they shook their head and he sighed. He picked them up, their sobs subsiding slowly. "I'll take care of you, until we find your parents, okay?" he whispered soothingly and they nodded sleepily. He chuckled as they fell asleep. He hopped up, his wheels catching him as he searched for their parents. He searched from town to town stopping every night as the two kept searching the celestial realm. "Y/n, we looked everywhere, literally, is there something you aren't telling me?" Nezha asked one night.

They nodded tears brimming their eyes and said, "My parents aren't he-here..." tears started to slowly trickle down and they tried to speak again "I'm so-sorry I just wanted to s-stay with you b-ecause you-you took care of me and-" they stopped talking once the crying became too much and Nezha scoops them into his arms. "Shh, it's alright. I'm not mad at you. I've become rather fond of you as well. You can stay with me, and I can stay with you." he soothed, rubbing their back as they cried into him.

It wasn't fair that they had to lose their parents at a young age like this, and it wasn't fair that they ended up in his palace while more chaos had gone on. But maybe it was better. Because he found them, he took care of them. Maybe it was better this way. They were both happy together. So who cares if neither of them expected this? It was better in the end. That's all that matters.
