Macaque x Shy! GN! Reader

Another day another slay. And with that slay comes going to the forest and collecting valuables. But with that, another day of seeing the same person. I've grown... fond... of them. They always show up, and I hear them whisper about me, in a good way, somehow. But whenever I approach them, they run off. So today, the day of slay, will be different. As I finished picking the apples off the tree I glanced at the place they were hiding and smirked. Clearly setting down a note with my tail and walked off.

They emerged out of their hiding spot slowly and picked up the note. I watched from afar as they looked up and around, looking for me. Then they pulled out a pencil and wrote something down on the back of the note. They left in a hurry and I picked it up. I had written ' I know you're here. I'm Macaque, and I want to meet you. What time would be okay for you mystery person?' and I flipped it over to see they wrote, 'hi! I'm y/n and I would love to meet you too Macaque, 8 later today?' I chuckled at it.

My eyes focused on my name. They wrote it so uniquely, it made my stomach turn happily and electricity ran through my body as my brain realized two things: I finally know their name, and we're going to officially meet. I held the note close to my chest like a high schooler as my heart melted. I ran off, back to my home and prepared for tomorrow. It was extra hard to choose an outfit and I didn't want to explain to Wukong so I asked Mei for help.

She already knew the whole deal and she had a knack for these things. Luckily she had an hour left before her date with Redson and MK, and she was already ready. She helped me choose an outfit. It was purple baggy pants detailed with gold souls at the ends with a connected black sleeveless turtleneck that had a diamond-shaped boob window. She also had me put on a loose nightshade kimono, it had gold soul shaped patterns at the hems of it. He had done my eyeliner in a vivid blue and bruised my hair, adding purple and blue glitter.

She left when she was done, 6:30, and went on her way towards her date. Before I knew it, it was 7:40 and I dashed out the door and toward the place we would meet. The sun had set and the stars shone bright and beautiful. Enhancing my eyeliner and glitter, that kept getting in my eyes. I approached the spot and waited. As their footsteps got closer my heart beated harder. They looked enchanting in their outfit, and walked toward me with a red face. They didn't seem like one to talk that much and if I didn't put down that note, they'd still be watching from afar for another year.

"Hello dear y/n~" I said, smiling at them. Putting my hand on their chin I looked at them endearingly and said, "you've caught my eye for quite some time, but I do wonder, why not talk to me?" they became red and said in a small voice, "I was too nervous to ask you... I didn't want to bother you." "Well then, guess we have to meet more often y/n~" I said, emphasizing their name. They nodded slowly. We talked for a bit and then I heard footsteps. Then hushing when they noticed I heard them. I told y/n in a whisper, keeping them calm.

And I looked over, only to see Redson, Mei, and MK crouching behind some bushes. They realized I saw them and ducked too late. I sighed in annoyance and said to y/n, "sorry, it's just my daughter and her girlfriend and his boyfriend." y/n tilted their head and said, "you have a daughter?" I hummed and said, "she's adopted" in a whisper. They pulled a whole-ass grandfather clock out of nowhere and exclaimed, "SHOOT! IT'S ALREADY 11:57?!"

They looked at me apologetically and said, i have to go, but we can do this again, right? Same time every other day?" I nodded. They kissed my cheek softly, my face warming up and they ran off. They shouted another apology as they disappeared into the night. I turned to the three and walked towards them, letting them off with a warning. I was in a wonderful mood. As I lay in bed I fantasized about them. Then it hit me 'oh no, i've fallen in love.'
