If anyone knows what movie the turtle idea is from comment! I wanna see if anyone catches on.
_____________Dream and I rode home in silence from a wedding we attended, both complete messes from a fight that had broke out. I began giggling as he put his old ford truck in park next to my house. I was staying with my dad on Tybee Island for the summer and Dream was more than happy to tag along.
"Guys! Come quick!" My little brother shouted, prying open the passenger side door with a huge grin on his face. "The turtles are hatching!"
I looked over at Dream who gave me a loving look before we both crawled out of the truck, still in our formal attire. As we sprinted down the beach I saw my dad already waiting, watching as the tiny turtles began crawling out of the sand.
"Oh my gosh." I gasped at how small they were, absolutely adorable. My head rested on Dreams chest as we watched my little brother lay in the sand to watch them, he had been waiting for this moment.
"Here, watch." My boyfriend said, grabbing a flashlight and turning it on, pointing it at the sand in front of the turtles.
"Why are you doing that?" My brother asked, complete confusion washing over him.
"To help them get to the sea." Dream said, the small baby turtles began following his beam of light to the ocean. I sat in the sand, watching as Dream and my brother bonded.
As they got closer to the ocean I watched as the turtles were carried away by the tide, going out to sea to live the rest of their lives.
"Who wants s'mores?" My dad asked as he clapped his hands and stood up, catching our attention.
"That would be great." Dream smiled, he began gathering wood into the fire pit.
"Buddy, let's go get some chairs from the house." I said to my brother, he nodded and followed me back up the sandy path and to the back porch. We grabbed four chairs.
"I like him." He said, looking up at me with a smile on his face. He was referring to Dream.
"Me too." As we neared the fire pit I saw my dad and Dream deep in conversation getting the fire started.
"No way! She actually did that!?" Dream laughed, listening to a story my dad was telling. I sat all of the chairs out and caught their attention.
"Just telling him how you used to super glue all your teachers desk drawers shut." He chuckled, patting my shoulder lovingly.
"Can't resist that story, can ya?" I joined in on the laughter and took a seat.
Soon enough the fire started and my brother began roasting some marshmallows for all of us, claiming he was a pro at making s'mores. As the sky turned dark I pulled a thin blanket over my legs, I had them over the side of my chair so they rested in Dreams lap, he had one arm over my thigh and the other resting on my ankle.
"I'm really glad you came with me." I said, leaning my head on the back of my chair while I looked over at him. The light from the flame illuminated his features perfectly.
"You're my girl, of course I was gonna come with you." He smiled, rubbing his thumb across my leg softly.
The rest of the night was filled with memories, laughs and way too many s'mores.
