"So, I have it all planned out. Right up here." My boyfriend, Dream, came over to me tapping the side of his temple. I chuckled as I pulled him onto the couch next to me, plopping my legs over his.

"Mhm? What's your plan?" I hummed, giving him a cute little grin as he turned to face me.

"When we have babies, I was imagining what the perfect day would look like." He closed his eyes for a minute, taking a slow deep breath. Probably still picture it in his head. I nudged him, "Care to share with the class?"

"So..."

"If you don't bring that doll Maggie is going to freak, remember what happened last time!?" I shouted through the house at my husband. I could already hear the screams of our four year old daughter, Maggie, if we were to forget her doll again.

"I got it!" He replied, walking down the hall with it in his hand. Maggie began jumping for joy as he lifted her up, granting her possession of her favorite doll and clinging to him. It was obvious she was a daddy's girl and that was completely fine with me. Even if I was the one who'd have to play bad cop in the future, whatever makes her happy.

"Beach day!" I sang, tickling her side after putting the beach bag over my shoulder. "Beach dayyy!" Dream joined me in a sing song voice and I opened the front door, gesturing for them to go first so I could lock the house behind us.

Thankfully Dream had her buckled in when I got to the car, "Here." He said, taking the bag for me and throwing it into the trunk. It was still sandy from the last time we went to the beach, her toys having collected enough sand to make a castle.

"Buckle up." I smiled over at him, waiting until he was safely secured before backing out of the driveway.

"Can I go to the water?" Maggie asked, pointing to the ocean in front of us. I looked to Dream, he nodded his head discreetly yes so I looked back to our daughter.

"What are the rules?" I asked her, hoping the last year of teaching her to stay in sight and not go too far paid off.

"Only water to here," Maggie paused, pointing to about an inch above her ankles, "And so you can see me." Smiling at her I pinched her cheeks and told her she could go, watching her little legs run as fast as they could to the water.

"Maybe I should go sit in the water with her." I said anxiously, already bouncing my leg as my eyes watched her swish the shallow water around. "She's too far."

"Baby," Dream placed a hand on my shoulder, although I didn't break my line of sight from our daughter, "She's ten feet away, she knows the rules we taught her. We're watching her like hawks."

"I know that..." Finally letting myself look down briefly I sighed before returning my gaze to her, "Before we know it she's going to be sixteen and sneaking out to go see boys that smoke way too much pot and-oh my god, what if she starts doing drugs?! Dream!" I gasped, creating different scenarios in my head of how I could fail as a mother. Hearing him chuckle next to me made me feel a bit crazy.

"She's not doing drugs, she's sitting in the ocean pulling shells out of the water."

"You know what I mean, I don't want her to grow up, I need her to stay my little baby Mags forever." I pouted, remembering the day we brought her home. She was so tiny, so perfect.

"No matter how old she gets she will always be our baby Mags, I promise." He placed a kiss to my temple and I leaned into him.

We sat and watched our daughter pick various shells out of the water before splashing water around and kicking it with her feet, "You thinking what I'm thinking?" I whispered to my husband, a smirk on my lips.

"I'm definitely thinking what you're thinking.." He agreed.

"Water fight!" We yelled in unison, getting up and jogging to the water as I scooped Maggie into my arms, her giggles echoing through my ears like a sweet symphony.

"Get daddy!" I yelled, bending over so her hand could reach the water, her tiny hands barely splashing enough water to reach him but he acted as if she did.

"Oh no, no! Get mommy!" He coaxed her. My eyes widened as she reached for him and she was taken out of my arms.

"Oh no!" I yelled in defeat, running away from the two as water was splashed onto my back.

———

"So you think that I think our daughter is going to be a druggie!?" I laughed as Dream finished his story, a laugh leaving his lips at my words.

"No, no!" He paused, pulling me back into his chest as we laid onto the couch, "I'm saying, you're going to be so worried about being the perfect mother when you'll already be the perfect mother."

"You really think I'm going to be a good mom?" My voice softened, looking up at him as he turned so we were now facing one another. One of his fingers lifted my chin and brought our lips closer.

"I don't think, Y/n, I know. I can't wait to start a family with you." His words whispered onto my lips before kissing me gently.
