"Will you just marry me already?"
_______________

Dream ducked as I held up the nerf gun, shooting in his direction. Letting out a laugh I peaked out from behind the couch to look for him, except he wasn't in sight.

"Dream?" I called out, the room stayed silence, "Babe?" Worried he may have fallen or gotten hurt I stood up, scoping the living room.

"Dream this isn't funny!" I yelled, setting the nerf gun down and checking every room on my way to ours. When I entered the room was filled with candles, rose petals were scattered on the carpet floor along with a note held by my boyfriend who was standing in the center of the room.

"What? How did you...?"

"When you went out for lunch I set this up and made sure you didn't come near our room until now." He smirked, gesturing to the paper in his hand, "It's for you, read it."

Grabbing the note I held it with both hands, reading it slowly.

'I know you hate how cheesy I can be but Y/n, you are the love of my life. Every moment I spent with you feels like a breath of fresh air. From stumbling across your live stream to meeting your parents I have always felt I could be myself with you. Years ago I told you I'd put a ring on your finger so I'm keeping that promise.'

After reading I looked up at him, tears swelling in my eyes, "Y/n, will you marry me?"

I stood in complete and utter shock. It's not that I didn't want to marry Dream because I did. Every bone in my body wanted to say yes but I couldn't. We both have too much on our plates to consider marriage right now. His career is taking off, I'm getting ready to graduate college and become and full time streamer. I needed my head on straight, nothing to distract or pull away from that.

"Baby?" He asked, voice falling low and curious.

"Dream, I love you, more than anything in the entire world but right now we have way too much going on to worry about the details and planning of a wedding." I explained, no guilty feeling, no worry. I knew Dream would understand my words.

"Okay." He replied, taking the paper and sticking it into the top drawer of our night stand while pulling me into a hug.

"Okay?" I questioned, hoping there would be more to his answer than a simple 'okay'.

"If that's what you want and think is best then okay, my love for you didn't change. I'm still gonna marry you one day." Feeling my smile tug wider I looked up, pushing myself onto my tip toes and kissing him softly.

*two years later*

"Did you remember to grab my little pink bag? The one on the table?" I questioned my boyfriend who had just gotten comfortable in the passenger seat.

"Yes." He replied, holding it up and setting it in the back seat with the rest of our belongings. We decided to take a break from the online world and go spend the weekend with my family.

"Okay...I think," Pausing, I looked at the checklist on my phone and mentally went through our things in my head, "I think we have everything."

"Baby, even if we forgot something we're only going to be gone for the weekend. Patches is with my mom, you went through both of our bags three times, we've got everything we need."

Leaning over the center console I kissed him, "I love you."

"I love you too, let's get this road trip started!" He yelled, cranking the music much louder than needed but nonetheless I began singing along with him.
