A yawn quickly escaped Raine's lips as she opened her eyes, crawling out of the bed. It was already late noon. The sun was already hanging brightly in the sky and the hustle of the city could be heard from Mikhail's presidential suite."Shit! Manuel?!" Raine screamed, jolting out of the bed in shock. "Oh! Hey good morning!" He replied casually standing from the chair. "Finally!!!"
"What are you doing here?! You can't just barge in on my room like that!"
"Oh! My bad! The heater is better here... I thought you wouldn't mind..."
"Of course I'd mind! I almost had a heart attack, you scared me. Don't do that again!" She hissed. Walking through the glass doors, slipping into the balcony as she took a breath of the fresh air. "So why were you here again?"
"Ah! That! Well, Mikey told me to pick you up after lunch. He told me you knew that you were going somewhere."
"What?! I clearly don't!" Raine turned perplexed. "What time is it though?"
"Uhmm... 12:30?"
"Twelve freaking thirty?!"
"Actually it's 12:34 PM." Manuel corrected, raising his watch to himself.
"Shit! I need to take a bath!" She said. "And please... stay in the living room!"
"But—"
"I'm going to change here!"
"Why can't you change in the bathroom! Bring the clothes there!"
"MANUEL!" Raine gritted, raising an eyebrow in annoyance. "Awwww... okay..." He said, leaving the room disappointed.
After taking a shower and getting ready in a white dress paired with a black cardigan, Raine headed straight to the living room, briskly looking for Manuel.
"You should eat first." Manuel greeted, stacking up toasted bread on a plate before pouring a little bit of maple, topping butter.
"Aren't we going to be late?"
"Nonsense! Brunch first!" He insisted, pushing the plate towards her. "Shall we dig in?"
"Awww... you're right. Yes!" Raine said ecstatically, clenching her fists in excitement as she licks her lips.
They both laughed while eating while joking about Manuel and Lara's real score. "I feel like we're dating, but we're not! It feels weird... " Manuel finished off with a smile.
"Don't rush it! She'll come around... just be consistent AND DON'T YOU BREAK YOUR HEART OR I'LL BREAK YOUR BONES!" Raine laughed softly as Mikhail gave her more food on her plate. "Ohhhh! But what about you and Mikey? When's the baby due?" He said grinning.
"WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO MEAN?!" Manuel immediately chuckled at Raine's defensive reaction but collected himself quickly.
"What?! I bet something has happened to you guys by now! I heard you spent two nights on the same bed last month..."
"Manuel!!!" Raine gritted, embarrassed. "What?! What else could you two be doing?!" He shrieked teasingly.
"Maybe sleeping?! Gosh! Your mind needs some cleaning! Nothing like that happened!"
"I was just saying!!!" Manuel smiled at Raine as she reached out for a glass of water and began to drink furiously.
"Nothing happened! We slept! Like close our eyes and doze off. SLEEP!"
