Thankfully all his day's worth of meetings finally ended. It was very unlikely for him to watch racing pellets of rain on his window, constantly reminding him of her. Mikhail paced his office, wall to wall. "It must've been 8 PM there already." He thought to himself, loosening his necktie impatiently.
He was itching to pick up the phone and answer her call. Mikhail finally sat down, glancing at his phone every second hoping to see one word. Raine. With such eagerness, he picked up the phone only to slam it down aggressively. "What am I doing?! If she says no, then it's a no!" He shouted to himself, biting his clenched fist out of frustration.
"Sir?" A low voice broke out.
"WHAT?!" Mikhail raged, eyes shot up across the door.
"Y-you have a meeting with—-"
"Cancel it." He said, turning his direction back to the window outlooking the ports and city.
"But, sir..." The woman muttered nervously.
"I'm busy. Cancel it."
Sighing, he thought of turning to the bathroom to refresh himself. Hearing the ring of his phone paused him midstep. He did his best calming himself before rushing to pick it up. Taking a breath of courage, he answered the call... "Raine?"
Mikhail didn't have to think for a second longer before he found himself dashing down the building and speeding his way to the airport.

Raine pulled up at a red light, just as it goes green she sped across the intersection. "I can make it. Mikhail... I'm coming Mikhail..." Her other hand travelled on the passenger seat trying to find her phone and the other on the steering wheel. She can hear her heart thumping loudly, tilting her head away from the road and to the side before a flash of light blinded her already impaired vision due to the heavy rain."Bleu!" Her eyes widened with shock, a black SUV sped across the intersection. Slipping its way on the road, it ricocheted into her, hitting the driver's seat. Raine's car rolled at least three times before coming to a stop on a large tree trunk. She rcan hear her heart beating as blood flows in her ears. Her vision started spinning, tinted with red blood. Raine rested her head against the steering wheel, before losing all sense of pain in her body.

Shaking himself out of a trance, Manuel looked back at Raine. The room has now been crowded with all her loved ones beside her, leaving him in the corner of the room. He had no idea what was going on with him, but something was telling him it was all his fault. Only if he hadn't left her all alone. Only if he hadn't caused so much trouble for her, all this wouldn't have happened. With a hurricane of thoughts forming in his mind, exhaustion from staying up and watching over her, he finally went outside to get a grip of himself.
"Manuel..." Lara said, caressing his back for comfort.
"It's all my fault." He teared up. "It was my fault why she was there in the first place."
"Of course it's not. If she can hear you right now, she will hit you so hard." Lara chuckled, wiping a lone tear travelling on her cheek.

"Shit! Fucking rush hours in the Philippines!" Mikhail cursed, as his car sped through between cars on the road.
His hand traced the side compartment searching for his phone, which led him only to dismay to not find it where it should have been. "Damn it! Where is it?!" He muttered angrily as he pulled into the hospital's building.
As soon as his car rolled into the front of the building, he slammed the breaks to the car. Mikhail pushed himself out of the crowd in the ER and ran through the front desk. "Lorraine Buenez!" He shouted, panting as hard as he could.
