We are mosaics...

Pieces of everything we had picked up from life, glued together with love and light. Filled with different undertones, built up from life's usual predicaments, constant learning and relearning, rekindling passions, sleepless nights fighting your demons away and to the most mundane of things.

Consciousness returned slowly at Raine. Weakness pinned her body down, like waking up after a long tiring day. There were loght buzzing of whispers when she realized what had happened earlier and jolted in shock.

"Raine! Are you okay?" Manuel asked worriedly. "I'm fine." She replied coldly, taking deep breaths one after the other. "Here." Lara said, placing a handheld Asthma inhaler on her lap.

Raine looked at her before taking a deep breath, pursing her lips tight around the mouthpiece.

"My! It's good I got here on time. Manuel and Mikhail were literally crying out their lungs." Lara chuckled, watching Raine inhale the medication slowly. "Are you sure you're okay now? Should we go to the hospital?" Mikhail asked from her phone screen.

"I really think we should." Manuel chipped in nervously.

"It's fine. It's allergy season anyways, so it's normal."

"It's not even Spring..." Manuel countered "Manuel, there's no Spring in the Philippines..." Mikhail added.

"It's cold, just that. The weather's changing." Raine blurted out, still taking small deep breaths. "You're bothering Mr. Bruxen for nonsense."

"Raine..."

"I'm sorry about earlier, Mr. Bruxen. I just so happened to accidentally press your number in a hurry to call Khalil." She explained taking the phone out of Manuel's grasp. "So, you were initially going to call Khalil?" Mikhail clarified with a sinister chuckle.

"I think that's our cue to leave..." Manuel coughed, nudging Lara slightly.

"No. Stay." Raine stressed.

"I think... RAINE NEEDS A BREAK!" Lara laughed off, grabbing the phone from Raine's firm grasp. "Thanks sir, bye!!!"

"What was that?" Manuel mumbled. "Not now, Manuel." Lara cut him off, glaring at him to leave.

After Manuel's last faint steps outside the hallway, Lara locked the door before coming back at her. "What happened?!"

Lara's face began to blur, colors meld together as Raine looked at her. The sound of static gushed in her ears.Raine reached her hand out for a sip of water. To her dismay the liquid sloshes around in the glass with her intense shaking hand.

"Did Khalil know?"

"Lucky you, they're all gone out for an early lunch!"

"Thank you." Raine mouthed, pressing their hands together.

"I really think we should go somewhere now."

"What are you saying?" She brushed off, picking up a few misplaced items on the floor.

"Raine, you need to see a doctor."

"I don't. I'm perfectly well!" She asserted. "Now if you'll excuse me I have a deadline to finish."

"Have you had lunch at least?"

"No. I'll eat later after this." Raine smiled weakly before going around the desk.
